We were supplied with a couple pipes and the bike was built with fitment for both.
I have photos with the other pipe if the gang here would prefer.

In the end it's just a photo, of a kind of cool bike, with plenty of other cool bikes in this thread.

If the net forums want to get really picky about the photo , it was an incomplete project
at time of photo.
Little things that were taken care of later. There was no front axle nut for those with eagle eyes, a torn seat cover etc, etc. but really nothing to get too concerned over given context that by the time the rider rips it,
all of that will be replaced with new Smile

Now I want to know more AJ! Who was the bike built for? That thing is the coolest looking RM conversion since the one docwob built! Love the suspension and the pipe! You do amazing work!

is this an engine swap, or did they put the 380 in this c hassis? I'd LOVE to find one of these. screw a 500AF.

It's a 2001 EXC 380 engine and frame with a 2006 subframe, sxs shock and an old sxs fork, with 2009 SXF 450 triple clamps. I definitely prefer this over the CR 500AF that's also standing in the shop. Much more fun to ride, like a 250 on steroids.

The 380 was such a great engine. Back then though KTM's were the ugly step child of moto so not too many people ever rode one.

More people should try it, the engine is just incredible. The chassis of that old bike sucks compared to modern bikes though

if i could find one of those 380s, I'd build one up in MX trim in a heart beat. Can't find them in the US though... people here STILL think KTMs are "hard to get parts for".

Heres my 04 CR250. Got a lot more work to do but im loving it so far. Just got finished painting my silencer with hi temp paint. Just gotta bring to a local powdercoater and get him to bake it.

Done it heaps of times. Mrs wouldn't even have a clue. Put engine cases and wheel hubs in there to help get bearings out as well Tongue .

That tank just Isn't growing on me Smez Sad . Gonna hard anno it black and see how it looks.

Reckon I'll use stock tank and modified RM seat though

If that was me i'd powder coat that tank rm yellow with some nice retro graphics to help the flow and for protection.you could also go with the clean look clear type graphics similar to this ally kx500 tank.just an idea .
