If that is really accurate, then after they pay their health insurance and taxes and agent, they are taking home almost nothing.

This sport sucks sometimes.

happy to see barcia through 2018 at jgr. great team.

i could see jg33 on the new yamaha team for 2016.

if i were factory honda, I'd keep bogle. he really surprised with his speed. i could see a 3 rider kawi team as well.

FYI... i have zero knowledge of bogles situation, only throwing this out there as an example.

Jesus christ anyone who risks life and limb to ride at the pro level through 29 races for only 60K a year needs to go to college or get a job in construction, because that little money is just not worth it.

Thats only a little over 2K a race.

I think the managers at McDonalds make more than that per year.
I think the "life and limb" stuff is a little melodramatic.

A lot of us probably pay $60k/ year to race....so to not only get to do it for free, but to make $60k (not including other endorsements), sounds like a great deal to me.

Must have been a Matthes podcast but pretty sure that was the rumor: agent was asking for stupid money from Kawasaki and missed. Kawi probably felt the difference between Hahn and Bogle wasn't the difference in asking price. Or, maybe they have a heart and wanted to give Hahn a real shot.

Bogle might have to entertain MCR to have a bike and mechanic since there aren't many good seats open. Doing well and getting along with that crew would go a long way towards negotiations for next year. Hopefully he'll have a new agent.

I'm surprised by a lot of guys speed for 1 lap... There's something about that 10 minutes plus 2 laps outdoors at
the end of motos that separates the Millionaires from the Thousandaires...

This sport is little more than a hobby for all but a few. The number of people really making a living at it is tiny. Instead, it's people "chasing a dream." Sadly that chase usually comes at the expense of having a real plan for life when racing doesn't work out.

And let's leave the "life and limb" argument out. There are plenty of careers where lives truly can be at risk getting paid less. Using that argument arguing for salary for racers who are simply entertainers in their purest form is just being dramatic.

I've heard that the Crossland team is interested in Bogle, sounds like they are to be receiving some additional Honda support too so I could see it being a good fit.

I could see that happening.

Wouldn't be a bad choice from him if thats what he has available.

Is Geico picking up someone else, or are they getting out of the 450 business after Eli and Bogle leave?

If Kenny leaves that's a good possibility, especially since he trains at the farm.

For 2017, sure, I'd say that's a possibly. But for Kenny to leave and go somewhere else in 2016 he'd have to pony up $2 million for a buyout clause in the contract, which more than likely ain't going to happen...at least that's been the rumor about k-roc leaving. Otherwise, he's got next year to make it he marriage work with RCH. Martin is going to be a hot ticket...I wouldn't be surprised if he's already unofficially started talking to teams.

Machine... it is clear to me that you don't know what a contract is... I'm sorry but how many times has it been said that jmart has signed with star on a 250 through 2016...

geico will be 250 only from 2016 onwards.

that's why bogle is without a contract yet, otherwise geico would have kept him i would think.
btw. there is no way he will end up at crossland or mcr if he has a offer from kawi on the table. no matter the $$$.

You signed up today just to say that?

This is all hypothetical talking here, not sure if your familiar with the concept. He has talked about moving up to the 450's next year...hell it could be 2017, this is all just bullshiting about riders..nothing more.

Ask Ernesto Fonseca, Pit Beirer, David Bailey, Doug Henry, or the Late Danny Chandler or Jim West if it is a little melodramatic. Pro level riders can be one missed shift away from a lifetime in a chair.

A weekend warrior vet novice rider, or even worse an 85 beginner, can be one shift away from life in a chair. Pros don't have a patent on paralysis or death in this sport.

No disrespect to the guys you mentioned, It's a dangerous sport, for all of us. The pros guys get paid to do, we pay to do it. We all do it because we choose to, knowing the risks. But every time I ride, I don't feel like I need to say my final good byes to my family and make sure I notarized my will, because I'm going out risking life and limb...and neither do the pro riders...

So yeah it's a little melodramatic.

If Brogle can't get a decent ama ride,
He can still ride mxgp mx2 next year and should do some testing n see if he can pick up a ride in Europe.
Another year on the 250 would do brogle good.

I would sign Bogle before grant,Hahn ect

Of course it will be, it is always good to see a former 250 SX champ race the 450 class, just happens to be it will happen 8 years later for CP.

What number does Pourcel run in 2016? Will he have to give up racing with the 377, or did he manage to lock that in as a career number before things changed?

Pretty sure he convinced the AMA to let him keep it (it was a legit career number up until he didnt race in 12/13), otherwise he would have had a 2 digit number this year

Can't see it, why do you say that? Because of his connection to RC?

BT and KR both stay at that camp in 16. Why would they change that?

Lets make comparisons and look at potential based on other guys who came out of the 250 class in recent years.

-In my opinion Bogle has MORE POTENTIAL then,...Tickle, Weimer and Hahn when they came out of the 250sx with regional titles.

-In my opinion he has EQUAL the potential that Seely and Anderson had when they moved up this year

-LESS potential then Tomac and Musquin.

So Bogle may not be a tier 1 rider but I think hes in tier 1BSideways

I think Bogle has more speed than Cole, same level as Anderson but needs race time , that's pretty obvious right now.

In SX bogle should be pretty good, although it's going to be damn hard to stand out in 2016 indoors, we have got some pretty sick riders in the big class next season.

Tough class

I Would think That if riders are sick it would be easy to stand out. What's wrong? Epstien Barr or food poisoning? Those seem yo be the most popular.

Team Honda has pretty deep pockets...and could easily find the $2mil or more if it meant landing someone like Roczen. Of course, historically speaking Honda has stepped on their tails more than once when it came to seeing value in riders...so who knows? I like Trey Canard and Cole Seely...but if they think either one of those two can beat Dungey for a championship...they are not investing wisely. Roczen could bring a title to Big Red that they haven't had in a long time.

Any news on Jake Weimer? Is he healed enough to get on a bike yet? Will a team pick him up?

How about Blake Wharton? Will he put down the guitar and find a good ride?

What about Justin Brayton? The 2015 season wasn't kind to him.

I believe Weimer plans on staying with Team Tedder next year, Wharton hasn't ruled out a come back at some point but it's pretty safe to say it won't be '16, and Brayton still has a year left with BTO.
