Seems to be acting up on me for no reason. I remember going to the doctor as a child for it but they never recommended any treatment except for the old bible trick. Seems it would be common with motocrossers?

I actually thought it was something else. Did a little research and my memory came back from my youth when i visited my pcp for it.

I have them too, on both wrists. They don't bother me much when I ride unless I case a jump or something, or maybe they are the cause of my extreme arm pump or hands and fingers cramping up....?They prevent me from doing things like normal push ups and some weight lifting. They can be removed with surgery or extracting some of it with a needle but there's no guarantee they won't come back. They're a real pain in the...... Wrist.

Same here pretty much. Surgery looks overly complicated but yes it really is nagging me lately. Never really affects my riding but training definitely and day to day pain.

Also if you wanna see them through your skin, go in a dark room and put a flash light on the bottom of your wrist.

I looked online and it appeared to look the same as a steamed clam. Lol

Yup, I have them on both wrist. They are super painful when they swell up, but go away after a week or so. You can have them "drained" or sucked out.

My wife has them. So did her mom and sister. Her big brother was a physician's assistant in the Air Force. He showed us the "bible trick"(smashing it with a large book). Her sisters hasn't come back after 10+ yrs. I have to whack hers every couple years as it starts to reappear. Hers got worse when she entered a job with constant bent wrists from typing.

I had one too on the top of my left wrist. I smashed it and then had it drained. My uncle is an orthopedic surgeon and he drained it after the smashing didn't work. They are caused by lots of high-impact stress on the wrist from what I remember... Mine never came back but hurt and limited motion when it was there.

Damn! I have two on the palm of each hand. Doc told me when it got to the point that I could no longer lay my palm flat on a table, it had reached the point to have something done. Don't really bother me but they are nowhere near the size of yours!

I had them on my right wrist when I was about 12. Doc said don't worry about them they will go away. He was right.

I get them occasionally on the bottom side of my wrist. A good smash on my desk at work and they go away for a couple years... unfortunately they always form right over the screw I have in there. Talk about uncomfortable when smashing them!

I had one where my ring finger meets my palm. My Dr stuck a needle in there and "popped" it.
3 years ago and so far, so good...Nowhere as nasty as the pics posted here.

Dont let those posts scare you i had one operated 20 years ago at age 16. then it came back 6 years ago. i was reluctant to have surgery again. so the doctor sucked all the fluid out with a syringe and injected a substance that bonds the bag containing the liquid. so far so good. i would recomend the second proecedure. less painful and equally effective. plus faster healing.

I had one on my left wrist. My wrist wouldn't bend past about 45 degrees unless I really forced it by doing push ups or something like that, but it didn't feel good when it went that far. It would throb pretty bad after I rode for about a day. It was a really easy surgery and my wrist felt 100% in a couple weeks. I went to work the next day, I have a desk job so I just typed with my right hand for a few days. If you have the option, might as well get it removed.
