These are bold accusations to be posting.

Who are you? Someone that will sign their name to a post like this or someone that will play "oh I'm in the industry and have to remain anonymous" BS card?

Make defamatory posts like that you should have to back them up or STFU.

No one has to do anything but pay taxes and die....unless you are a billionaire or major corporation in the US then you only have to die or merge.

If it was public knowledge then no need for a relatively new anonymous poster to pile on is there? I don't have a horse in this race aside from my dislike for anonymous posters who make accusations. I would also think with Matthes using Pulp MX as his pulpit to get his message out about Tickle it would be enough.

Matthes knows about stuff like this and sometimes I think Matthes' greatest contribution isnt what he SAYS but rather how much he MUST bite his tongue when shit like this happens.

EKS Brand goggles are an entry level goggle that are made to a price point that may not stand up to extreme conditions that are found in AMA motocross. Steve Matthes is not realy taken seriously in the Moto world because his style is more comedy than serious journalist. He may not have the time to prepare goggles as well as he should because he is so involved in other things at the races.
I'd be interested to know what about the goggles is not up to par? I've raced in everything with EKS brand. Moto, harescrambles, and mud much worse than anything seen at the nationals yet this year. They are an excellent goggle and I have a hard time believing that a pair of Scott goggles can do anything that a pair of EKS brand can't.

Funny how Broc was the MX world's greatest victim when 800 t-boned him in ATL a while back. Looks like the Vital wolf pack has turned on him now. What a fickle bunch...

Doesn't matter Matthes bites his tongue when people like you are available to post "supposedly" and make your other comments. I am not down for people bailing on contracts and/or not paying trainers but also dislike it when people use the MX boards to trash people anonymously.

If you won't sign your real name then don't bother making accusations.

Ping has been pretty vocal about not liking Broc Tickle when he was on the pulp show more back in the day. This might be what he was referring to, because he came right out and said that Tickle owes one of his friends money. I have no clue really. Just putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Its is as brutal as a national and for the record my EKS Brand goggles holds up the same as any others. when it gets that bad, there is only so much you can do to block off a 4" x 6" window on your face.

How much do you guys charge to answer my questions to The Narrator? I think Narrator is a big boy so how about letting him answer my questions?

Got no problem with Ping Matthes or anyone talking about their experiences with people. I have a major problem with faceless people piling on.....just not the cowboy way IMO.

Whoa Whoa. I didn't see a question and I'm surely not piling on. Just shedding some light on past stories from an industry folk (not me) stating similar, if not the same situation.

I wear EKS now: they're fine.

No one's goggles did exceptionally well in that mud.

Has anyone here tried EKS goggles? They do look pretty cheap, weird that he decided to completely switch brand between 2 motos.

This was asked: I tried to answer that general question because if you haven't worn them then you wouldn't know.

I repeat: no one's goggles did exceptional well in that mud. Most guys pitched them but didn't throw a fit. I didn't need to race them to see other brands also being thrown but thanks for asking.
So your answer is no.

Thanks

The issue is not the goggles. If Tickle wants to buy the contract out and switch brands he can. That is the issue. You enter a legal binding agreement and decide you don't like it pay up and move on. Its very simple but in this case it sounds like that was not done. That is a ethical discussion about the person not a discussion about the product. Let's keep our eye on the ball gentlemen.

Ahhh...yes...beginner class. I think I raced that once when I was 12. EKS brand wasn't around then. Huh

That might be a future issue–Neither EKS nor Broc has said anything about that state yet–they probably won't.

I started the thread just because the logic behind the situation was dumb.

You got blasted with mud, couldn't see. Threw your goggles. Got mad. Got hit by a rock. Got madder. Blamed it on the goggles. (Which you removed) Said you're done and wore another product. (Which would wouldn't perform any different getting blasted)

That makes ZERO sense.

I agree with you 100%. We are saying the same thing. It comes down to Tickle making an emotional decision not taking into consideration the legal ramifications. He is not a child. He signs a contract and gets a check for running EKS. He got pissed and made a decision. Now he can pay back the money (never going to happen) or EKS will take him to court (never going to happen). Bottom line it comes down to who Tickle is ethically as a person. This sport is so hillbilly (not that there is anything wrong with being a hillbilly) that actions like this mean nothing. Only thing that can change is how fans view Tickle as a person. You are only as good as your word and his word is shit.

Gotta say I have been wearing EKS brand since they came out. We race 2 plus hour HS, XC. Only time I had an issue was when the cord for the roll off got pulled off by a tree/vine!!! I used to wear Scott, I prefer the fit and the price point of the EKS.. I also have some Spy that are my second choice. Recently dropped the coin on the Dragon NFX. rode with them for about an hour and switched back to my EKS. NFX Frame too big for my Airoh and squeezed the end of my nose. Oakleys do not fit my eyes/face the way I like, too small around the eyes. The EKS are very flexible and comfy..

Goggles are an individual thing due to fit.. Quality wise you can't knock the EKS. They do the job and don't break the bank.

When did this happen? Saturday, right? Why not give him a damn week to get everything figured out and close out his deal? Sounds like a lot of jumping to conclusions here. The only argument people have is the way he handled himself on pulp. But if he intends to end their contract then what the hell does he care to support it? This is so stupid.

The problem with the "story" is that you are only reading the cover of the book.

Here's what you're overlooking:

Broc has welched on multiple contracts and owes people money ( I was only aware about the Charles Dao thing, but apparently there's more)

So this isn't just "goggles" its a "pattern of douchebaggery".
Just realized who you are. You can change the name but posting styles are much harder to fake.

Here we go again. Tickle is going to be the popular guy to bash this week on vital. Anyone want to place bets who it will be next week? He wasn't comfortable with the f'ing goggle, get over it. He doesn't need something dumb like goggles on his mind during the race. Put a different kind on and move along
New things have come to light man. A lot of ins, lot of outs, lot of what-have-yous.
