Dungey has put himself in a great position. He put in the work pre season. Aldon has built up his confidence. From fitness and bike setup up to individual moto and season strategy he has things dialed like a formula. As long as they stick to it, the end result is the same.
Kenny on the other hand has changed Teams, Trainers, had injuries, likely receiving a bit of pressure from RCH who is so dependent on him being the #1 guy for sponsor obligations. They sold sponsors on having the champion. RC has been very blunt, on National TV even, about his expectations and frustrations with both Kenny and Broc.
That all being said. This is Kenny's first year on am entirely new team and trainer. He won his first race out. He has put in some solid rides considering the major jump be made. The team knows he will deliver it just takes time to put it all together.
That plus, he has a life outside of moto. Something for everyone to remember. All these riders that you idolize are in fact real people. They have all the same issues you and I have. Only there is a crowd of people seeing them not perform when they have personal issues. It sounds like Ken's world is collapsing a bit at the moment. Have some respect and don't sound he alarms just yet.

Having Clint join the team is a quiet way of saying the Dad is a little out of his depth here and they need someone else. Either way it does not look comfortable and I do think that Kenny is floundering some because of it. When RC raced James outdoors that bike was all over the place and he had to ride his bike pinned all the time to beat him. Set up be damned. I don't think there is any set up that would make any bike look good at the pace those two were going.
The Suzuki is more than capable of winning, so was the KTM.
But when you dont gel with the bike, it doesnt matter if its capable or not. He chose the Suzuki over the KTM and the bike is not to blame for his poor performance.
The kid is injured. Plain and simple.
If your team doesnt care about your life outside moto then they dont know what it takes to win. Every aspect of a riders life effects the performance of these top level guys, if a team doesnt care about the riders entire life then they wont win.
Only problem I see is, what are we all going to sit around and circle jerk about?? I suspect we will find something...
