Let's say you're right, Tony is just an average b-class euro rider and has no balls to put a wheel on the American soil, does this make RV an instant hero?

JMB is right, but he would be called a know-it-nothing troll by the American fans if he posted that anonymously here. As I said, put the pride aside. As JMB said, learn how to lose and take a does of humility. These American fans have a hard time with facts and take it as an insult when someone points them out. At the end of the day, they will just shoo others off the forum so they can live in their own world.
im not the biggest rv fan but bayle you sound like a real jerkoff.
Trollers who have a problem signing their name to their body of work are often times hard to take serious. Nothing new there.
JMB could stand to take a dose of his own medicine.
I have always given riders from across the pond their congrats on coming here and kicking yank ass. Speaks volumes about where the state of the sport is here in the US. Our guys have always had difficulties when they head over to the GP's and always seem to return to the states with some new found speed. Tallon Vohland and Mike Brown are two that come to mind. Ryan Hughes too??

Well no shit. Of course I would prefer for RV to have gone out with an MXGP title. But why does that mean I can't be fine with how he left?
Had he not had a bad head injury, i have no doubt he would have won races, and maybe pushed for a title.
Nobody has come close to doing what he did , not even close.
That said, RV has gone out literally on his ass. He was capable of coming back at some point and going out with more wins, but he chose not to. (His choice, who am I to criticise?)
Contrast that situation with Bubba who has taken a huge hit but seems to be bursting to come back, have fun and add wins. I doubt Carmichael would have quit like RV either.
RV is a great rider and talent, but isn't one of my personal heroes. He doesn't live and breathe dirtbikes, and ache to be on one every single day like Bubba, RC, Magoo, McGrath, Dowd, Guy Cooper etc .....it was his job, not his passion. He was awesomely good at his job. I respect that.
Oh, and by the way JMB won titles at the highest on both sides of the pond (few can say that) AND he competed at the very highest level in road race GPs. His opinion is entirely valid, irrespective of whether you or I agree.
If so, that just shows the difference between the two racers. One was content to ride around, the other wasn't interested in riding around, even injured, without being able to give it everything he had to win.
Steve was even checking steering head play long before Bayle. Hell, he could even change a drain plug gasket mid race!
Who's to say JMB is right in this situation? That's subjective as all hell and there's no way you can make a coherent argument out of that. At the end of the day, he's telling another guy how he should retire and/or how he should handle his defeat (post-injury no-less, and RV has had numerous injuries), which is nonsense.
All in all, I actually think it's a pretty disrespectful thing to say. Everybody hates to see a guy go out like this, but not everyone can retire like RC.
