if js7 wants to go send him. when poto was hurt a couple years back dungey ask poto to go and poto didn't race a single race that year.. and js7 beat dungey ass in 4motos. js7 never got ask to go but poto got ask.its simple dump decosta bring js7 and we will win.
I'm gonna resist the temptation to be a dick here. If you can present some evidence that any of our teams have said that Roger DeCoster is the reason they lost an MXoN then I will gladly proclaim from the balcony of Vital that you sir are a genius and I suck eggs. The gauntlet is thrown....defend or retire.

I'd lover to see Stewart but I'm afraid he would be too much of a wildcard with the time off.

I'd suggest Barcia, Martin, and Peick at this point. Is there a 250 guy who could ride up?

While I understand the desire for time off, I still find it... not sure what word fits. Insulting, upsetting, dissapointing? Would Hannah, RJ, Wardy, Bailey, RC, Larocco, Henry, Stanton have said no?

Maybe this event has lost its luster?
It is pretty frustrating, I'm from France and I'll be rooting for the French team on their home soil but I also want to see a good showing from the biggest team, and that's team USA. This race means a lot still in Europe, and it should...its the des nations come on!! Wtf Dungey? He won the 2011 des nations at Saint Jean D'Angely in France, and that track is pretty similar to the Ernee circuit they'll be racing on this year. Doesn't make sense, USA should be winning soon...

DeCoster has taken a few breaks through the years as well. I'm surprised at some on here. What else can the man do for motocross in this country and some of you want him canned..... If I were Dungey or DeCoster, I'd say fine, have at it.

IMO, Poto, Stewart and Canard are all out for obvious reasons. I see some of you not only bashing but pleading for us not to send Bagget; looking at the current point standings and how the year has gone so far....I think Bagget would be a decent choice. J Mart is 0 for 1 and I don't see any of you bashing him. If you go by past years choices the typical scenario is the top 2 450 guys, Barcia and Bagget (assuming Dung is out) and the top American 250 racer, J Mart. I think we would have a great shot at winning with that team.....just like last year!Dry

Stewy won't be on the team for probably ten different reasons, drop it.

Canard, unless he comes back within next two to 3 races probably won't be on it either.

decosta have to pick riders who will win for USAAAAAA not his personal feelings towards riders. We all know he picks riders that he likes and that will kiss his ass. js7 poto alessi grant and other riders at 1 point deserve to go and they didn't get picked because decosta say they will crash out or something els its 1race not a damn season..I saw many times 800 finish 2nd and didn't get pick.decosta had his run lets try mitch payton. No 1 here can tell me with a good start JS7 is not top 10 or mabe 5 a bad start JS7 will give the world a show coming from behind.

The fact that most are picking 2- 250 riders pretty much tells the story of the state of our big boy class right now. Pretty sad....

Does Mitch want to be the team manager?

One of the harshest critics of Dungey's past MXON rides was Roger himself. I think that had to hurt Dungey more than crap that this board could dredge up. I agree that the guy has earned a break, but it is a bummer because he has been on it this year.

I think Baggett would be a solid pick too. I think it helps to have someone with a ride under their belt and he's been riding great this year. But Webb would be a fine pick too. We might be underdogs but maybe that's exactly what we need.

Barcia MX1 if Dungey doesn't race.
Martin MX2

For MX3 I'd pick either Webb or give Savatgy a shot on the 450. Joey is a bigger kid, I think he's going to be a beast on a 450. If not those guys I guess Anderson..

NOW..... If RV is healthy and Dungey wants to race, go with them and Martin. Still a lot of time between now and then. A lot up in air.

If RV is healthy and up to speed, him Barcia and Martin could bring it home.

I think if RD sits out ( which he has every right to! ) I say take James! Hopefully RV will do it , but if not , screw it , get Barcia! For MX2 , Webbor Martin will do just fine.

I get it, I just wouldn't even think about doing a charity race that others get PHAT off of!

Some are racers, some are corporations. The Dunge has jumped to that level, and he doesn't need the MXdN.

If it was good for the corporation, he would go. He doesn't need the exposure, some others do.

Dungey is a great racer and doesn't miss much time. I took a vacation day today....

He is a great dude and representative for the sport.

And, he won a SX championship for KTM!

No money, no funny.

I would love for JS7 to go, but I doubt he will. He will be seen at A1.

Well that brings up an interesting question though. If RD sits out , who will Roger pick? And if James isn't doing the last couple nationals , it would be really tough to gauge his speed and fitness. I know James would come out with both guns blazing , but race shape is important for those motos. Personally I think it would be totally badass if James did it! I wanna see him back out there bad , and putting him back in the racing , on a world stage would be the perfect come back story!

I don't think that's it man. Doing the MXoN's race for an American is tough! We usually have to travel farther than any other competitive team AND the race happens a month after our nationals are over. 99% of our racers here use that as their one true break / vacation of the year. To do the MXoN's race properly , they have to keep training for another month to stay sharp and in shape. RD has been a trooper and has fought for team USA many different times , i think he deserves a break to be honest.

It's a different RD we're seeing this this year in comparison to the last few years, perhaps we'll see a different RD in Mxon if he races.

Although Dungey does a great job of blocking out all of the knuckleheads, I think he is A-tired of taking both the blame and the shit, despite having won a few for team USA and stepping up for 6 straight years, and B-he is probably pretty fucking tired and needs a break. The guy has been relentless for almost a decade now. I say good for him. He has earned the right to decline this invitation.

Exactly. The only guys who are a possibility at this point are dungey, barcia, webb, martin, and maybe (a huge, huge maybe) villopoto.

I can see people saying canard, but like you said, only if he comes back in the next couple weeks.

In my opinion, nobody in the 450 class has proven themselves enough to knock neither webb nor martin out of it if Dungey doesnt go. It's either going to be dungey, barcia, and martin or barcia, martin and webb.
