The guy crashed real hard then gets up and battles all the way to the end, stops to get goggles and if he wouldn't have stuck it in that turn probably would have gotten 9th.

after all that crap and probably being very disappointed He sticks around and gives an interview, most would have stormed back to the pits and pouted.

Why people want to shit on an effort like that is just beyond comprehension.

Whats the goal here ? try and harass everyone until they quit ?

This is usually the point in the season where Dungey kicks it into overdrive. Seeing him in last place seemed to be just the break Roczen needed and while a 1-1 score would have been nice for Dungey, Roczen has to be more upset about his results than Dungey is his. Walking away with no points lost after a disastrous second moto has to feel good. Maybe there is a little divine intervention going on Wink

What impressed me was his kicking ass in the mud and muck with no front fender. It's weird enough when you snap a fender on a nice day.

Dude still doesn't get enough credit for how badass he is (through good days and bad days equally). Awesome effort for sure.

He just keeps getting wins and titles, and people still hate on him. He is already in rare air in the record books.

Total 450 wins combined, top six riders.

How anyone can still shit on Dungey after his mid air hand shifting move in Vegas is beyond me. I mean who the hell has ever done that before? Some of the hater comments he gets on Instagram are truly insane.

That was crazy, but instead of giving up and storming off back to the pits (like most of those guys would do) he does the best he can. I thought that was insane reaching down and shifting the bike by hand in mid air. I wouldn't have thought of doing that.... much less been skilled enough to pull it off !!!

Yep. RC (if my memory serves me) said a championship isn't won on your best day, it's won on your worst. This was Dungey's worst...and he didn't lose a single point! He is indeed a badass.

And it was a non-point exhibition race...nothing to gain but to do well at a race

One Million for sweeping all three motos and a hundred thousand for the overall, but nothing to gain?

I bet Dungey would do again during SX or MX if he had to.

You have to admit this kid Dungey is less something and more something than he used to be!

Baker?
Wife?
Maturity?

It's something to watch, something fun!

RD doesn't get his due because he is so damn good at making it look easy! And to the OP's point it might be a little easier to keep your cool after a day like that when you know that your main rival didn't gain anything on you and you still have a healthy lead in the points. Hell I'd be smiling today if I was Dungey!

True, guess I could've worded it different. Basically saying he's a bada$$ for not pulling out in a race that technically wasn't for a points championship.

Has anyone ever been as cool headed as Dungey? The guy never seems to get rattled. Nerves of steel? Reminds me of DeCoster. That guy is always straight faced and on point himself. Always has been.

I love the fact the guy never ducks the outdoors like other riders, no outdooritis & no Epstien Barr every other year...

He does that Cancer Fundraiser deal too...

I can guarantee he wouldn't be able to do that, at least on a KTM.

I didn't see him make anything look easy Yesterday. That trip over the bars and then working your way back through the pack....without your fender....your F'n FRONT fender! As Newmann said its weird enough on a good day. I seriously drop into goon mode and not just with that look, but it have the speed to match!

I now call Dungey, DeCoster Jr. . RD earned my respect year's ago, and he just keeps adding to it. Very cool how he took control of what could have been a nasty crash, and also how he masters damage control. OBA, Official Bad Ass.
