The only way to,get the bike back is doing something that will get you in jail or dead. These animals could care less about ending up in prison because it would be like a family reunion for them, and that is why it is dangerous for you to go anywhere near them

ChrisB210,

Thanks for the response, but I will stand by my post. The guy is a thief, and a coward that stole the bike.

The variable here is that you know nothing about me, and it can be done with complete control.

You are the dude who suggested putting a gun to the guys head to get those bikes back, right?

You've been watching too many Liam Neeson movies, dude. Only a complete idiot pulls a gun on someone they aren't prepared to shoot. If you are dumb enough to shoot someone over a couple used dirt bikes, you aren't going to be involved in any problem-solving solutions.

You will not get the bikes back.

Get him on the forged check. I take checks in my business and had a customer write me a check with insufficient funds. He was being difficult afterward so I went to the sheriffs office. They said it's a civil matter. But if he knowingly gave me a forged check then they could arrest him on Check Fraud.

You could call Chase's fraud department, they might be interested in helping. No bank likes forgeries of their checks being used. They might not get your bikes back, but they could push to press charges.

Chase is the worst bank ever. Don't count on it. They know it's not with the time and effort to go after these guys.

For what it's worth Georgie , I'm really sorry to hear about what happened to your dad with the bikes. I think if I was you I would of been a little more demanding and make him understand that this world isn't the same as it used to be. You could trust the nature of a lot of people back in the day , and today , well it's like Mad Max beyond the thunderdome! And it isn't just the ghetto trash either , it's strait up suburbia where a white collar dude will steal your entire life savings , house and basically make you live on the street.

On the bright side , be thankful it was just a couple used small bikes. and not something worth a lot more.

Some good ideas. And some terrible ones. I can't hold a gun to the guys head. not an option. IF I was a felon. Why not ? Got nothing else to lose. But I'm not.

We don't care about the bikes really. Maybe th attorney general will help. Chase doesn't care. Police don't care. Unfortunately I don't know a lawyer or retired police officer from these districts. Cops light a fire under their ass for their buddies it seems. But not for some dumb oldnl electrician and a dumb nurse.

Double true. Massachusetts is starting to see it growing all over the state.
Instagram is fueling it. They're going on little tours of the United states. This weekend the cleveland boys are shooting a video in Atlanta. With the Atlanta dousches.

Although I like your thoughts on the gun to the head it is a little dangerous to risk that over a couple of bikes. The way this world works is Georgie would be either killed or arrested and the real criminals would be the victim. I just don't see him getting out if there with the bikes using that method unless he had some back up. 1 guy dealing with a gang is pretty bad odds

Kenny,

Danger is about controling the sitiuation and it's variables, is it worth the risk? That's a question each of us has to answer. Steal from me, the response becomes effective. This is the chance the thief took when he stole.

And suppose the thief is packing too, and rightly feels that you're not going to pull the trigger...then he blows you away, or you blow him away. What have you gained? It's taking a huge chance for a couple of minibikes. I'd like to think you're just giving bad advice and wouldn't consider this a viable option...good thing Georgie doesn't.

Star.

I'm not advocating for Georgie to follow my thoughts, he is not me as I am not you.
Cold hard fact is these Bikes are not coming back unless your willing to take them, it is what it is. Last think I would want is for him to be hurt. If I have offended anyone, well that's tough gentlemen.

Again, I hate it for Georgie..

You have not offended me, and hopefully your posts will help keep the honest people honest. I just can't help thinking that people who commit these crimes are more likely to use an illegal firearm in furtherance of their schemes or to protect themselves from their victims. In years passed I might have suggested something along the lines of your thinking, but have learned from experience that it usually does not go well.

I have to agree with coolhand.

Short term wisdom lubricates the slippery slope... If men had not allowed such behavior in the past, it might not occur today. At some point we must stand up for ourselves regardless of the risk/reward ratio.

These issues need to be considered not only on the value of property, but also on the value of principle.

For those of you who use accounting to weigh each and every decision, consider the potential impact on future thefts if GP used force to get his bikes back. Would those actions prevent a future theft, a dozen?

It is mathematically possible that one action based on principle could have an exponentially higher dollar value than that of the individual's stolen property.

It is a very interesting line of thought at least.

You're opinion is as valuable as any other...and well taken. Pretty sure Georgie has not come to that "point," where he is willing to risk life and limb, and perhaps the security and well-being of his family, to resort to this type of action. That's all I've got for this topic...good luck Georgie.

Honestly coolhand, I'd do the same thing...just a little different. Fuck the bikes, their irrelevant at this point. Drive-by was the call...hidden tags...large cal. revolver...3 shots center mass...call it a day. Go riding new bikes tomorrow.
Do your homework first...cuz if you screw up...life in prison for Georgie.
