Man we are such an inbred group it is pitiful. Flat track is bad ass and the average mx rider wouldn't be able to hang.
Would an average flat track rider hang with the pro's on an mx track?

Explain yourself as you fall into that pit of ignorance: did you learn to ride with lthe likes of Don Castro, Steve Eklund or Scott Pearson?
Did Bud Askland build your YZ 125?

I have not seen flat track in years but it looked identical to the last time I saw it in the late 1980's. Bikes and gear look identical and they still run the exact same style on their numbers. It is as if time stood still.

I think the racing would have been a lot more exciting if the track was in better shape

But still just as cool. You would think with Espn's money they could make it a little easier on the eye. Looked like some shit i made in my backyard.

Average? Try Travis Pastrana and some others have taken their shots and got schooled.

Huge props to Texas Tornado Boot Camp instructor Jake Johnson for taking 5th, and a Heat race win!

I assure you that Flat track is alot more gnarly than anyone that hasnt tried it, would think. It is alot of fun, and most of those guys ride moto for cross-training.

After selling my 300, all I do is ride flat track out at Colin's place.

You mean 140 on a mile, 110 is half-mile speeds.

That being said, so pissed at the track they gave the guys and gals at XGames, not in anyway a real representation of dirt track. If they showed up and a national track was prepped like that, no one would've raced.

To the guys on this thread with the belittling comments, don't knock it til you've tried it or seen a real race in person. Or maybe don't even bother at all, dirt track has no room for the shitty, elitist attitude that is all too pervasive in the motocross community.

were they the white leather ones with the carbon knuckles? I have some of those for my street bike and absolutely love them. I've worn some A-stars that were way more expensive and thought the Fly ones were a way better glove. Props to Fly.

Already been done with snowmobiles for years sort of with Hillcross, which was on for 4-5 years and we went about 3 years straight and the truth is, everything stopped and all eyes were on those sleds when they fired up. Whatever was happening, people left once they heard the sleds fire up.

It was a 10 machine straight rhythm type race up a snocross hill before the Red Bull deal. There was nothing quite like it and it was awesome.

It got so much attention before and there was so much demand they brought it back this year. Jamie Little was out there announcing too.

Please let this happen damn it!!!Woohoo

Like someone said above, it really is a crazy event to watch as you wait to see if each rider can knock the best time off, never a dull moment.

Growing up racing AMA dirt track I was hoping they would give them a decent venue, Should have taken the race to Devil's Bowl in Mesquite, That would have been some racing. BTW, One of my favorite tracks.

Or they should have added a jump and an infield called it a TT!

That track was NOT EASY to set-up for fast turns.

TG I was a couple pops in last night when I made that comment Smile My point was/is that it is a cool form of racing and we shouldn't look down our nose at something we don't understand but is actually very closely related to what we love to do. And actually I know some of those guys and have ridden with them on the ice, at the motocross track and in the trails up north as many of the best come from my neck of the woods here in MI.

Thankfully AMA has finally let some other brands run on the big tracks. For me the 450 racing is where the action is at. I never was a fan of my Harley. Loved my 600 Rotax though. BTW, 526, Kawasaki is dominating the miles lately, Hop over to Superbike planet to check out Bryan smith's ride.
