I'm hoping, if not this year but maybe in years to come, we'll be back on par with the Euros in the MXoN. I like seeing the guys ride the rough stuff and I hope we get back to the top with leaving the tracks rough.

Dungey said something like "I dont want to say dangerous but.....". Last time I checked dirt bikes are dangerous and a big part of why we love them.

Looks like they are making them rougher here and smoother in Europe.

I don't really notice that much of a difference in roughness as compared to the tracks from the last couple years. I think people are really focusing on it this year and suddenly think that the tracks are more rough than normal when really they aren't...

I'm serious... Have you watched any of the Nationals from last year recently? Muddy Creek was about as rough a track as I've ever seen.

They had just one "rough" section and the rest was tame. It created close racing like I like.

The tracks look more narrow as well to me. Narrow tracks get rough. Maybe it is the camera angle.

Did anyone catch DV and RC's exchange on twatter about how bad today's pros look on rough tracks? They said they need to stop practicing on chocolate cake freeway tracks if they expect to ride well on a rough and rutted saturday national.

Piqued my interest

Both of them would have looked equally as bad on yesterday's track. They wear a heavy set of rose-colored glasses...

I shared a similar thought. Like I siad, it was mostly just intriguing to read and ponder.

It seems to me everyone is confusing rutts with bumps. Rough (bumpy) is great but when the track gets to the point it is nothing but a series of endless frigging ruts it isn't that great to watch and definitely no fun to ride.

I think Dungey is MUCH more injury conscious than the other riders. His comment caught me off guard a little bit. I enjoy the rough tracks but to the point where they're starting to claim riders, I'd rather see a little be of maintenance done between motos. Not talking about the whole track, but just where riders are consistently going down. I'm sure Davi is doing that. Just haven't seen it and haven't been to a moto this year.

They are different. USA forms deep ruts. GP`S are whole another/different rough.

I have a feeling that you are right. You can hear it very often from the gp riders: dangerous! no one likes to hit deep edgy holes at high speed it seems

I like that they are doing something different and not grooming the tracks so much between every moto...but I think they should ix it up & sometimes groom, sometimes leave it.

I think the Hangtown, Glen Helen and Thunder Valley tracks have been brilliant.

I don't want to see tracks manipulated to create closer racing, I want the tracks to challenge the best riders in the world and groomed tracks littered with big jumps don't really test professionals these days. If a guy like Tomac is more adept at tackling the conditions than everyone else then so be it, the others just need to work harder and catch up.

I like them rough, as well, but I think there are going to be times when common sense has to prevail. We almost lost Moose on one of those downhills, and we just might have lost ET for the season. No one is saying grade the whole track between motos, but I don't think its too much ask to touch-up sections that are causing rider-after-rider (the best in the sport) to go down. If it will make some of ya'll feel better, maybe they can dig big holes in the track and fill them with sharks and razor blades. You know, just in case you think the track is getting too warm and fuzzy.

Watch the footage of Stewart's crash and the footage of Tomac's....same section of the track and way way rougher last Saturday.

I think the rough tracks are great, but to me, those bikes don't look like they handle rough tracks worth a damn. They are all set up stiff as a board and handle like pogo sticks. Seems like watching Gp's, they set up bikes to track through the rough much better.

Tomac also crashed more than halfway through the fourth moto of the day, while Stewart crashed early during the first IIRC

I would agree with this as well. It must come from not wanting to stray to far from the SX setup or something. Desalle's bike looks incredibility soft.

I disagree with the manipulated tracks make closer racing, I think it makes it easier for the top top guys to separate themselves quickly In the AMA. There have always been a few guys who take going WFO to a whole new level which is why in the AMA series you will often see races with ridiculous leads, where GP races on the rougher slower tracks will usually feature races where 1 thru 5 is fairly close( Expect sand) Also those manipulated tracks which I am not to big of fan of bring other guys to the front that would not be there on say a traditional track. Those are the guys taking the sport to the next level speed wise.

It is cool to see rough tracks, but our tracks require a different skill set than GP's which I enjoy and I don't want are tracks looking like GP's and vice versa. (Some GP tracks could add a few jumps IMO) Watching Nagl go by Simpson on he rollers was pretty cool... Low and fast. Everyone both sides of the pond rides like bubba now to win.

Like in SX when tracks get rutted, most of the riders look like out of sync. Its time to stop practicing on chocolate cake tracks fellows

— DV (@DavidVuillemin) 30 mei 2015

@DavidVuillemin thank you... And they wonder why the struggle after practicing on a freeway all week..

— Ricky Carmichael (@RickyCarmichael) 30 mei 2015

@RickyCarmichael dude, it's painful to watch... We didn't look that bad back in the day bro

— DV (@DavidVuillemin) 30 mei 2015

@DavidVuillemin nope because we trained on ruff tracks and conditions

— Ricky Carmichael (@RickyCarmichael) 30 mei 2015

I hope the 250 guys are watching Ken and Eli right now and hope they're taking notes on how to ride ruts...

— DV (@DavidVuillemin) 30 mei 2015

Hey Pros, Joes, Kids, watch Eli riding the ruts. Stand up the longest you can & dont do like most riders, riding them sitting down w leg out

The SX season always hurts us going into nationals. We are just as deep but every year SX takes at least one top guy out, usually more.
