According to this report that's what they're looking at.

http://www.mx-pure.com/archive/news-20090318095900-20150530100431.htm

Motoconcepts and Mike Alessi are not disillusioned by their experiences at Matterley Basin and are working on plans to contest a full MXGP season in 2016. "I'm 27 now and feel I have another three seasons in me," admitted Mike, "but I need a new challenge and MXGP is what I want to do. Clearly we were expecting better results, but we know what we have to change; US motocross and MXGP are two completely different worlds and we can see now that we need many weeks to prepare."

Father Tony was frank about the magnitude of the challenge: "In the USA the tracks are all rotivated several feet deep for every race and you just open the throttle and put the power to the ground, but here you need milder power or you're just getting wheelspin and going nowhere.

"It's the same with the suspension. In America the bumps are rounded and you set the suspension hard to crest the top of each, but here the bumps are shorter and sharper and you need to soften up the suspension. You need a minimum of three to six weeks testing to set up the bike, and then the rider has to learn to ride again because the style is completely different."

Motoconcepts team owner Mike Genova confirmed that he was seriously considering switching his operation to the GP scene: "There comes a point where you need a change from going to the same old places, and I like what I see here. The Youthstream operation is so professional and everyone is treated equally."

The potential move also makes business sense: "Leisure Concepts markets a wide range of products such as the Smarttop covers and we now have a European base in Tewkesbury."

Should the move come to fruition expect a four rider setup with young European talent signed alongside Alessi. Tony Alessi was rapturous with praise for the youngsters on this side of the Atlantic: "I watched the 125s in England and those kids like Mewse, Prado and Renaud are just so talented. It is a credit to Youthstream that they have created a platform for the youngsters to develop their skills on GP tracks and they will reap the reward in years to come with an ongoing supply of talent."

i think he is , for a good rider it doesnt take that long to adjust .... i mean look at all the MXDN races in Europe , US riders always did good and won just this one race .... if youre good , you be able to adapt quick and get some good setups ......

How many hot tub covers does a guy need to sell to cover the increase in costs to move their entire racing operation overseas?

Those MXDN results are gone a while already.
the rest of the world kept up pretty well.

Regarding adjustment RV expected it easier for sure.

But what is interesting in the writing is the 125EMX, new talents are racing on the same track than the pro's.
On a long run this will create even more talents!

lets not forget "it's more professional and Youthstream treats everyone the same"

lets see if that holds true after a few lasers and crazy threats.

in the Spirit of International unity. ADIOS Alessi ! and Motoconcepts.

Well, if anyone watched Thunder Valley today then Tony Alessi is completely full of shit, like he has been most of Mike's professional career.

I hope they make the switch to. Would be a really cool thing cheering for an American again over there in that series. And for Mike , he isn't getting any younger and it will give him a chance to travel the world. Even though RV has had a rough go , I bet he doesn't regret it. Getting paid to travel the world is pretty damn cool!

Hope it happens, MXGP has a stacked top 20, but Mike is better than his showings so far.

I would love to see him drop Dad sign up with Aldon and get on that factory Kawasaki for the last years and see what he can accomplish. All in no drama

It is the Alessi's chance to try and do something better than RV. A carrot they've been chasing since turning pro.

I hope Mike does well and has some fun in Europe.

Ok, I wish them the best in the MXGPs, but, I am a little confused over Mike's statements. Recently on Pulpmx Mike was discussing the team's position that the "riders are the show" and criticizing the US series over the financial treatment of the riders. Isn't the GP series even more financially burdensome on the Riders. Seems I recall something to the effect or rising entry fees and purse elimination by the MXGP series. Am I missing something?

I have a lot of reasons to dis on this guy, BUT ! Alessi riding the GP's in my life under the red white and blue is good enough for me! kick there f+++++king ass dude. They seem to ride the same way you ride but a little bit nicer in interviews, lets see what you have left in the tank, cross rut, cross jump, brake check we don't give a shit. The holeshot and checkered flag is the only thing that matters this is your last shot.. Good Luck
