i remember ET hitting the ground one way or another in supercross a lot this year. he didn't exactly light the world on fire in the nationals last year aside from a few motos.

i'm not hating, just saying i think KR and Dungey will be the head of the class again this year

Honda will certainly hope this can be Eli's year. When was the last time they won anything championship wise with the 450? In fact have they ever won anything with the 450?

I seen where his front end washed out, think it was houston or Dallas? but alot?...Shorty had a hell of a year and everybody remembers his epic get off into the bails ERR soft blocks but that wasn't even considered alot.

I think Dungey being Mr. consistent and not crashing once is remarkable for a SX season.
I can't remember when a rider went the whole season without a crash....can anybody?

I get it man no biggy, talk to ya around REDBUD time just to see where your at...Wink

He beat the champ every week the 2nd half of the season after missing more than the first 1/4 of the season and riding back into shape.

Yes of course. For some reason had it stuck in my mind that RC rode a 2 stroke that year. Still though, long old wait

Thats a good point...Think the 250 days got into KR head when Eli came back first race and did so well?

This year Eli is starting in racing shape with the bike to his liking, guess that's why I stand on my post above....think Dungey will have to ride out of his comfort zone to beat Tomac this season.....IMO

Man I dig Eli and love watching him when he is the zone but I also think Dungey's comfort level will go up a notch or two this summer. I can't wait for Saturday!

Maybe I'm being a nut hugger? I watched a few races today at the office including last years MXDN over again and the dude is a fucking animal outdoors. On top of that he looked good last year in his rookie season and coming off injury. With that said I'm sure his prep wasn't what it could have been. Now this year he's coming in with a steady season under his belt and plenty of testing. I also think RD looks better than ever and is going to be strong and consistent but I think ET3 is just going to be in another league. I would go as far out on the limb to say that it is probably a good thing for Villo that he left when he did. I think Tomac is about to put on a clinic. All the opinions/predictions I keep reading seem to be its RD's or KR's to lose with ET having a win here or there.
Based on the previous 2 pages, yes I think he is being overlooked by some.

If Eli consistantly started in the top 5 like KR and RD and didn't crash he would likely win this thing....but....he will not consistantly get as good of starts and will hit the ground more often than those two. I think RD is going to be the man this year with the new bike and Eldon. All three will win but as much as I love Eli I dont see him being consistant enough over the series due to his starts and riding on the edge to catch up.

Rd is being over rated cause he had one great sx season.
Kroc, being a unknown cause had not raced in a while.
Tomac somewhere in the middle.

All above mentioned riders can win this mx title.
B.bagget will cause upsets for this trio for race wins and pourcel, canard, will also have some great motos.

Eli needs to nail down his starts. He's got everything else.

I won't be the least bit surprised to see Bagget run up front. Obviously he has game outdoors, but I wonder if working with Rick Johnson will add that extra bit to help contend with Dungey and Roczen.

Can't wait to see what Cole does outdoors!

RD "one great SX season"? I think we have underrated the guy for the most part the last few years and the good old eye ball test says he is better than ever right now. I am more of a Eli fan but If I had to put cold hard cash down in who wins this series it would have to go on #5.

He is a beast, and I still think he can be the dominate guy in his "generation" of riders, but he has to figure starts out.

LaRocco was probably the fastest guy of his group, including MC, but he couldn't start for shit. He only had it together one year all year and he won outdoors... Before and after that he got worked coming from the back and riding nuts to try catch back up, crashed a lot and hurt himself.

Kenny and Dungey are doing things the easy way.

Hopefully Dungey, Tomac, Canard, and Roczen stay healthy. It's like the hitting the fan lotto if they do.

Once he gets settled in he will be fine. All the hype has put to much pressure on him imo.

They are in the "big boy" class now I realize, but correct me if I'm wrong when I say that Eli won the series the last year he and Kenny were in the 250 class. Roczen has definitely adapted to the 450 faster than Tomac, but make no mistake, Eli is figuring it out quickly and when he does, look out. Speaking of not being able to close out a season, Kenny has faded every year he has finished the season. I'm not being critical of Roczen either. I like the kid, but he is going to need to hang on toward the end a little better imo.

I feel that while ET is an outstanding rider , he hasnt got the 450 down yet, making a much better job of it than Barcia , but he still isnt the finished article. I am looking forward to how he shapes up against Seely.
WTF are you talking about? Seely is great for sure , but on Eli's level outdoors? What would make you even think that's even possible?

Kenny beat Eli last summer because Eli missed the first 4 rounds you nitwit. AND......in SX this year? Who crashed out? And one more thing....don't consider Roczen a GP guy. He's spent most of his pro career here in the good ol' USA. Get your facts strait kid. Laughing

Well, the fact that Kenny beat Eli 4 out of the 8 races that Eli was in probably didnt hurt either.

Much like u said can question Eli's potential, his ability to over come consistency. He may not have the starts in his back pocket or the track record to keep it on two wheels for 24 motos strait. But one thing u can't count out is that this is 35 minute Motos twice a day and that leaves him about enough time to hunt down anyone infront of him no matter how far back he starts! If he can make solid results on his bad days and shine like serius on his good days he won't have a problem bringing this title back to an American. I'm not saying dungey won't get it done but realistically raw speeds will be with tomac 90% of the time.

Bringing this thread back because I was dazed at how many Nuthuggers were hanging their hat on Dungey for a runaway.

Give me a beak man, Tomac was and is the real deal. Dungey will keep him honest.
Sad that Roczen had back issues but the future looks exciting

No doubt ET3 is probably the fastest in the field. Hopeful he can keep it on 2 wheels throughout the season.
