I know they never would do It, but I would love to see 2 or 3 outdoor races sprinkled in. I know It wouldn't be so...
I know they never would do It, but I would love to see 2 or 3 outdoor races sprinkled in. I know It wouldn't be so damn boring If there was a little variety from track to track. The only one they have now is Daytona. Lets put a couple more like Daytona In but slightly bigger, and shorten the season. From week to week, It's all the same damn shit right now and It's gotten old.
That's a great idea actually. Kind of an outdoor supercross style track with 2 minute plus lap times. That would be sweet.

It would break up the monotony, and at the same time, shake things up a little.

A big part of the reasoning behind making the 250's two separate regional classes is to help out the privateers. A guy like Matt Lemoine or Jimmy Decotis can not afford to hit a full 16 or 17 round race series on a 250. On top of the obvious addition travel costs the bikes cost twice as much money to maintain compared to a 450. That's why you see so many privateers running the 450 class and skipping the 250s. They can't afford the cost of building a competive short lived 250 engine but they can buy a 450, get the suspension done, put a pipe and ingition on it and go race without spending a shit ton of money on internal engine modifications.

Less races, maybe 10-12 tops...tracks no less than 50 secs and no longer than 1:10...better purse money...a bit rougher and a bit less speed...bowl turns in the right places...

Let's stop kidding ourselves, the "lites" class is a professional class...keep them at the same time and duration as the big bikes, no east/west thing...

Two row start sounds great! Top 10 qualifiers front row, the other 10 on the back. Other sports do this and it works. Ever heard of a thing called pole position in moto gp?

Or maybe an A and B main.

Biggest problem is the night show format. 4 heats + 2 semis + 2 lcqs + 2 mains = 10 races, in the night and 8 are completely meaningless and except for the lcqs and MAYBE a semi, those are pretty boring. And then in the mains, particurly the 450 main is almost always over by lap 10 and usually over by lap 5. Second biggest problem are the tracks. It is 10 times more exciting to watch riders haul ass and flow rather than skip hop bump through rythmn sections that force everyone to go the same speed except for the very top guys. Feld needs to do whatever will make for closer racing and closer point chases as a top priority. There is a lot of opposition on here from purists, but they are in a business. I think a Chase points structure or 2-3 moto format would help exponentially and can be done overnight. I can't imagine how boring a typical SX is to someone who is unfamilar with the sport (after the first couple laps). BUT on the rare occasion we have tight racing, especially in a main, it's the most exciting damn sport there is, along with outdoor MX. So the potential is absolutely there. The night format has simply got to go. It's a glaringly obvious hinderance to what the sport could be.

I 1000% support the two row starting idea. Or maybe cutting down the riders in the 450 main to 12 or 15 max.

How many guys are within a half a second of each other lap time wise? About 5-8. Why don't we get to see those guys battling? Oh yeah the fucking start. Trying to cram 20 guys into a corner that fits 5.

The guy out front has a 5 second lead by the first corner and with lap times nearly identical or close you never get to see the top guys going at it.

That has to be fixed.

I suggested grid starts in a similar thread a while back, but everyone panned the idea (even though many other motorsports do it successfully).
Maybe not grid starts, but what about a "V" shaped gate, instead of it being in a straight line?

My opinion:

- Race itself is very long
- Tracks are relatively the same (minus Las Vegas and Daytona {which in my opinion has went down a notch after Gary Bailey quit designing the track).
- Injuries (no control over)
- Need to branch out from energy drink sponsors. Why not have race sponsored by Barclay or Citi?

this.

I've been a fan since about 1970. I read 3 month old reports of races back then.

I think, possibly, the internet has made some peoples attention spans shrink a bit.

I can't understand how watching the best guys in the world, virtual artists, attack a track can be considered boring.

SX has been exactly like this season more times than not. One guy ends up dominating, the field gets depleted with injuries.

I suggest deleting your, twitters, instagrams, etc... maybe not sit through practice. for gods sake turn the sound down, so you don't have to listen to ralph, put on a good album...ummm (i'm sorry..) playlist and be amazed by these guys.

certainly you'd think they could go live to tape with the heats and semis and take an hour out of the program, but i usually take that much time out with that fast forward button.

They should combine the series into one series. Make it every other round outdoor, then indoor. Go to a two moto format in both. Boom

In a longer series, guys wouldn't have to go as far for broke.

Race itself is very long? Have you ever been to or watched a National? 12 to 15 minute 250 mains and 16 to 20 minute 450 mains in the cool night air are sprints compared to MX

I'm serious...........what is the problem?? Just because Dung wrapped title up with consistency as main rivals knocked themselves out early or several times???

Live TV................most rounds have good or exceptional attendance............is Monster complaining or Feld???

Seriously don't understand what the problems really are aside from the usual one of really no cash below top 10 guys
I think it would be cool to have another class that just went straight to a main event instead of heats , and it was a "run what you brung" class up to 500cc. 2 strokes and 4. But I'm just dreaming now .

I would stop watching and following if were anything remotely close to nascar. I absolutely cannot stand nascar. Complete turnoff. No thanks.

My biggest peave with SX right now, cookie cut tracks. Extremely boring. Almost all are one lined and it turns in to follow the leader and hope a mistake is made in front of you.

I honestly feel like the bikes have outgrown stadiums. Todays bikes need to stretch their legs, stadiums dont allow for it with the track designs weve been getting for the last decade basically.

In Endurocross, there is 1 pt for top qualifier on the afternoon. Then after the heat races there is a another single lap qualifier for gate pick in the main, this is also 1 pt. This would mix it up a little. The series does need another break in it to give the riders some healing time. Or only count your best 15 out of 17 rounds.
Bring back a box stock 125 2 stroke class, these tiddlers sound way better than any works 4 stroke mx bike.
