So if RV was handing the Euro's their asses, or at least within a handful of points of the leader, you still wouldn't like the GP's?

You love moto, but don't like the GP's (one of the top 2 series in the world, featuring some of the best riders in the world, often the top 4 within 10 seconds of one another, riding varied tracks on works bikes in incredible locations). Hmmm, OK.

That's your problem , everything has to be a fight , and if you cant win , you go home grizzling like a little girl with wet knickers , and then pretend it doesn't matter.

The fact is your dog crashed like a rookie on a 65 , and just like him , you are all Butthurt.

Bit harsh on RV.

But for sure there's a group of fans with the mentality of "I can't win, so I'm going to take my ball and go home".

That's no reflection on the more mature fans, or RV himself who is a beast.

I don't have a problem with any of your riders, only garbage posts like this one from garbage posters like you.

Congrats, you have hit rock bottom. {pun intended}

I don't think it is, it was a rookie crash , totally avoidable ...

don't get me wrong, I am gutted that RV is hurt , because I would have loved to have seen how he would have stacked up in the sand , and if he had have been fit , he would have got his race back , with AC crashing , so it would still be all even.

I know loads of people who went there just to see RV ride. not to see him fail , but to see him ride. Its a sport , the beauty of MX fans on this side of the world is that they appreciate the sport for what it is, and this year was looking like the perfect storm.

Hopefully the fact that both RV and AC are already facing an uphill climb will make the racing even more intense , especially with Paulin coming to the party too.

It was certainly the most bizarre crash I've ever seen in a professional event.

The championship is far from over. I anticipate every one of the top protagonists having a DNF or bad Moto to come. That's what happens in MX. Things could all change very quickly.

Consistency will be major key from now on, preferably victories, and not only RV, but Cairoli and Paulin too.

I've taken a look who scored every moto of the year so far in both classes, not too many of them anymore:

MXGP
Nagl, Desalle, Paulin, Febvre, Bobryshev, Simpson, Waters, Coldenhoff

MX2
Ferrandis, Justs

Not really bro. They are still gonna line up and drop the gate, same as any other weekend.

I am bummed for RV ( not being a fan at all ) and I hope he keeps going after he heals up, but it's not like he was setting the world on fire over there. He was just another very fast guy in a group of very fast guys.

If you stop following MXGP cause he is out then you are not a fan of the sport, you are a fan of a rider.......
The MXGP's have been the most exciting motocross racing on the planet since the series started, and will continue to be great with or without Ryan Villopoto. Why any motocross fan wouldn't want to watch this series is unexplainable to me but so are many of the beliefs humans cling to. To each his own I guess.

Wow that's crazy.

Still can't believe Tony ravioli had such a shitty day. I'd imagine that list is going to get a lot smaller after the next five rounds. Wish RV wouldn't have broke his ass. He could definitely still be in it in five more rounds if he wasn't hurt.

I bought the first race because as an American I wanted to see one of our top guys take on the GP's. After his ass whipin' I lost interest. My new interest is having Nagl come over here to race in the US.
I guess that won't happen. I recall him making some comments about that topic in an interview. Not sure what it exactly was anymore but I remember these comments were even pretty strange. At this time Roczen was moaning about him at the MXON in thunder valley because he appeared totally last minute and was never seen after the checkers. He didn't look very interested to be there for whatever reason.
I think with his newborn son and his wife travelling with the motorhome to the races they look really happy in europe at the moment. Hope he can finally make it this season.

Covington is the American dog, he's not having a good fight but he should have the American fans behind him, he's taken a beating during his learning curve the last 2 seasons and can hold his head high and deserves respect. Like I have stated before, every rider that has the guts, dreams and drive to line up on a GP gate is a winner deserving respect.

"Those guys aren't in the fight, don't fool yourself."
Keyboardwanker

Typical, your poster boy is injured so you retort to slagging off genuine competitive points scorers who are working their butts off, scoring 5th place overall in Simpsons case, top ten for Searle coming back from broken vertebrate, Anstie 2nd in ..first moto . Sterry winning EMX 250 cc overall and Lewis Gregory second in EMX 300 T/ Stroke class.

You are just a bitter trol with nothing to add to the discussion..........wanker!

I have to admit that I was only mildly interested in what happened in MXGP the last decade or so. I was pretty confident that AC and Desalle wer every bit the equal to our best on a real honest to god motocross track but it just seemed like the MXGP series was in turmoil and being cheapened by the way the field was being thinned down and some of the track choices. RV deciding to compete re awakened my interest in all things motocross both here and abroad and I will be intently following the rest of the MXGP series. All that being said how many of us fans predicted that Nagl would be the man at this point?

After watching this season in mxgp I have a new found respect for the euros. Herlings is a beast and makes it look so easy. the tracks are so rough! Makes our usa tracks look overgroomed. I'm bummed rv is out but him being there got me re-interested in the mxgps. Great Racing.

I lived in Europe from 1973-1980. Traveled all over Europe. Went to several GP's as a youth. Great memories of seeing great riders. We even saw Kenny Roberts at Imola in 1974. Man, was he happy to see some Americans there! I got a ride around the course in a yellow Lamborghini!

Read RV2's recent Cycle World interview about his GP team: "The team, for example. You have a new team, you get along well, but you are a foreigner. In the States, I raced for Kawasaki and they are like brothers."

And NO, the U.S.A. is not the epicenter of the world, but I am damned happy to call it home. I saw the rise of the U.S.A. in MX from 1973 to present. I'd say the U.S.A. has done rather well in MXoN/MXdN, No? The U.S.A. has a vast talent pool, if only by sheer numbers.

I'd say it is easier for a European to blend into the U.S.A. rather than vice versa.

I still follow the GP's, and yes, bought and viewed Valkenswaard, despite RV2 being out. Herlings is amongst the best I have ever seen, and his racing was amazing. Paulin was superb. I am a fan on KR and MM here as well.

I still love MX, and have attended High Point and Budds Creek as often as possible since 1980. They are within a few hours from me, and zero cultural differences.

If I were in Europe, I'd attend a few GP's, depending on the host nation. Some countries I'd skip even if it were free to attend.
