Two things:

1) Casey Johnson remembers Rusty Holland

2) Didn't know RH was funny but I remember the guy could ride

no honestly you may have a point. nobody will never ever get that part of history out of any germans head, even though the Führer wasn't even german himself. He was born within spitting distance to Mattighofen (get this!) in Austria. lol
haha that just got out of hand.

So we shouldn't blame Germany for the killing of the Jews or WW2?

Germany and Germans let it happen. I'll let this get back on track to whatever it was before.

A discussion of what Pingree thought suddenly became a discussion about ww2 .. ridicolous. haha.

Godwin strikes again...we're used to this

Just let me tell you that nobody is as hard on the germans when it comes to ww2 than Germany itself. Don't worry about that dude. I was just pointing out that everybodys little honey bee was born exactly where the KTMs are manufactured nowadays, no more, no less. cheers

SInce round one and even some of the pre season videos.....I just wonder in my head if RV was 100% in the game......There wasnt much mention of RV racing GP's then it just came about pretty quickly.... Was the GP's sort of a " hey Ryan, we know you want to retire, but maybe try the GP's out..." type of arrangment with kawasaki? I heard more about RV opting out of his contract and retiring than the GP's before it was announced....

For the record, I didnt think RV would jump across the pond and just whoop everyones ass...i did however think over time, and still do think (had he not been injured obviously) we would see RV close that gap and the 2nd half of the series we would see RV a top the box more often than not....Italy was only round 4 of 17..... but injuries are injuries...and its a bummer we'll never know....Italy was some very close racing so nobody was getting " smoked " by anyone...
You seem to have a short memory ,

When all those pre season vids were being posted all we heard was , " wow , he looks awesome , gonna kick those euro butts etc etc "

Just because you had not heard RV was going to the GP,s , that doesn,t mean he didn,t know ?

I am sure RV had this lined up in plenty of time to get his prep right .

To say RV was gonna close the gap and be " on top of the box , more often than not " is just more wishful thinking .

I wouldn't say that RV is out of this. Anyone remember this?

Bottom line is, it's racing and anything could happen.

RV is not out of it if Cairoli, Desalle and Nagl get injured.

I have a feeling that it is really an urgent necessity for a lot of american MX fans to "dominate" or "crush the competition" and stuff like that and I think that's one of the main reasons for all that AMA vs GP nonsense that currently is going on. Am I wrong with that? I have to admit that I sometimes feel a little offended by that behavior for whatever reason. I mean, sure it's sports and it's about winning and you have your guy's and so on. It just doesn't seem to me that easygoing as I thought it would be with them.
As for myself as a german, sure I'm happy when Roczen or Nagl are doing well but honestly, if Roc would have lost the title last year, I would've been that upset. And I am pretty sure the same applies for the majority of my fellow countrymen. Can't help it.

Of course this mentality has made them achieve great things, but to people of other cultures who see themselves as realists they may come across as brash or ignorant at times, which is probably what you mean by feeling a little offended by it.
Pretty spot on...and that's why we get so pissed when he doesn't win, we accept no less unless it's soccer or the winter olympics..lol

tells it like it is, please.

after that incredible sunday Cairoli turned off his brain, won seven (or six, i don't remember well) race in a row, every motos except one (which he scored second place anyway), beat straight Roczen in his home soil and destroyed the world in Lommel at MXoN 2012.

In my opinion, the only time he rode close to his 100%. Close.

I don't know about Ryan racing next year. I have a feeling he may hang up his boots after this. I think he obviously had grown tired of the grind and thought it would be fun to ride off into the sunset in MXGP. But now he is pretty seriously injured again and going to have to wait out another period of time coming back from injury. I'd take a look at my bank account and life outside the sport and call it a career.

It's a bit off of MX topic but I wouldn't see myself as less optimistic. That patriotism topic isn't unknown here but public opinion about it is that it degrades others. That's why it is mostly unpopular here. Maybe the reason is to find in the constitution as well. 1st amendment here: dignity of men. which is what in the US 5th? far behind the right to bear arms...man I don't know. BRAAAAAAAAP!
Right to bear arms is 2cd on our list. It guarantees we get to keep the others on the list Smile

A lot of people don't even know where those countries are.

Although the American way?

Check out Foxhills MXDN sometime. I think it / Everts inspired RC to learn to ride in mud. He did learn well, that's for sure - I forget the track he lapped all, or nearly all of his nationals competitors in.

Seems few remember Everts doing a few SXs in the US in 92, after his first 125 WC. A few top tens, straight into the then 250 class. Went back for the start of the GPs, to crash and have to have his spleen removed. RacerX's The Vault is a great source of enlightenment for people interested in what has happened in the past.

Im curious why you think Everts inspired RC to learn to ride in the mud ? When they had two completely different riding styles. Maybe you are right, idk but Everts was already a in the buiss for while, rc was the green lad coming in, ofc Everts would handle him in the mud, but i do know RC admire Everts and have huge respect for what he accomplished.. Yeah the vault is sweet.
