Yeah, that cycle news piece I see is from Steve Cox 12:32 pm 4/21 today.

C & P of the important stuff.

Well, with a lot of effort, over the weekend at the Santa Clara Supercross—despite the fact that neither any Kawasaki representative nor Millsaps were willing to speak on the record about the incident—a couple journalists were able to put their heads and sources together to explain what went down between Kawasaki and Davi Millsaps:
Sources close to the situation have indicated that a member of the Monster Energy Kawasaki MX/SX racing team found something in Millsaps’ personal locker that constitutes a violation of the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) anti-doping code, and as a results terminated Millsaps’ contract with the team.
There have been two WADA tests during the 2015 Monster Energy/AMA Supercross Championship, and Millsaps wasn’t tested either time, which means that Millsaps has not—and could not have—failed any WADA drug tests.
Some sources have indicated on a condition of anonymity that Millsaps maintains that he has/had a prescription for what was found, but other sources have indicated that couldn’t be proven.
The 27-year-old Millsaps has indicated that he’d like to find a new home in the AMA Pro pits in order to continue his largely successful racing career, which recently saw him win the 2014 Monster Energy Cup in his debut ride for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, as well as finish second overall in the 2012 and 2013 450cc Supercross Championships.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if this is where this story ends, as WADA and USADA have a history of launching investigations that often lead to sanctions against athletes without requiring that they actually fail a drug test. This is referred to as a “non-analytical positive,” meaning that the athlete isn’t, or can’t be, found “guilty” due to direct evidence of doping (such as failing an actual drug test), but is instead determined to be guilty of doping on the basis of other facts suggesting use, which could range from written admissions of doping all the way down to testimony from people close to the situation.

What's interesting is Jason Thomas saying on the Racer X podcast that if Davi's results were good, nothing would have happened. And he said he has witnessed a ton of illegal stuff that led to no repercussions. Because the guys were doing well at the races.

Can I add a speculation?
Why not, I contribute Dribble as much as the next member~mostly Positive dribble thou...keep my standards high...Tongue

Here it is;
If a rider is sponsored by a particular energy drink and that rider is caught drinking another brand...is that considered "Breach of Contract"?

If he was 6 points behind Dungey for the title, nothing.

Some of the weirdest non-journalism and WTF PR ever.

Same thing happens in every day business. If you do something questionable and someone (higher up) wants you out, they will exploit what you did to serve them. Really not that eye opening IMO.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any of the riders drinking any brand of energy drink...

Where were they able to find a couple of journalists at a SX race?

Most recreational drugs are on the same list as the performance enhancing drugs.

I'm sorry, but how dumb do you gotta be to leave something that could get you fired in your locker on the truck? Sheesh!

Isn't this about the time some too cool for the room 'insider' chimes in with:

Now I'm not positive on this but didn't Thomas also say there is zero chance that RV would be racing in the World Championships? If so I think it just goes to show he isn't always telling it like it is, and I think his statement last night was pure bullshit. If he wants to have anyone believe that then give some examples without names instead of the "tons of illegal stuff"

this could be something akin to what Stephan Roncada was doing before he retired. He was taking Vicodin heavily to get through races due to severe back issues. Millsaps could very well have something he has a prescription for but he may not have a TUE. It may also not be something he could get a TUE for. If this was something he was forward about, especially with the shit storm surrounding JS7, i dont think they would have done anything.

Think about it. Your the manager and you happen to see so questionable pills in your riders locker and he hasnt said anything about it to you. If he were to get caught, he's sidelined and you have a huge PR nightmare that is even worse since it would be the second big rider to get busted in the sport. especially if he isnt able to furnish proof right away.

GuyB and Matthes are reporters/journalists??

let's see some proper reporting/journalism.

this kind of garbage kills your credibility.

you owe the MX/SX community more than what you're giving us.

If he could have got a TUE he would have got one. Especially with all this James stewart drama going on. He would be more dumb for not getting a TUE if he was eligible than just flat out using a banned substance.
