I had one for a couple months. Although a sexy bike, I had a love hate relationship. Suspension sucks, even after a few re-valves. Wont touch another ktm until they replace the 4cs forks. Bad design. Also, bike feels like it is hinged. I switched to a 15 honda, wayyyy better, well, after I put showa spring forks on it.
I kind of have a hard time following your logic

well, Im not interested in another ktm with the current 4cs forks, AND the now older design. I felt the frame hinged when riding back to back with a Honda. As far as forks I had a set of spring forks that I was able to swap out on the Honda which I felt made the bike better for me. I could had done the same with the KTM but there were too many modifications to make it work and wasn't stoked with the bike enough to try. This clear things up for you?

no kidding right? where are you? WI? that explains it. Take a trip out to CA and educate yourself. We can ride everyday of the year and that makes it possible to get to know our bikes and how they work. Not just trail riding on a snow bank. Pffft, some people

Yeah you really get to know your bike on those hardpack dusty highways you call tracks. Do you sissies ever see actual ruts, or even braking bumps? id rather ride soft awesome dirt for 8 months than ride on concrete.

Sure, but not following you on the hinged comment. I've heard the phrase used before but I have no idea what that is supposed to describe?

All we need now is Ryan or McCread to post some photos of Euro ruts and it's another typical night at VItal.

Yeah, no doubt those things are hinged. Dungey, Roczen, Musquin, Short, Herlings, Cairoli.......man, they all looked like shit on them the past few years.

'the frame hinged'

care to elaborate on that one?!

I love my 15 350- great bike! has the perfect engine for most people in my opinion. It will pull strong off the bottom like a tamed down 450, and pull hard up top like a super fast 250f! really good fun to ride, and easily capable of holeshotting in open classes.

I prefer the feel of the steel frame over the ally frames, and certainly wouldn't buy a bike with air forks!!!

hopefully the 16 350 wont come with 4cs forks (in the uk they still had the older style bladder forks, which I like)

Ironically, Reed thought the new CRF was the one that felt like it had a hinge, and after riding all of the stock 450s he was going to choose the orange one.

He's not from California though so that may not hold much weight.

I can't fault mine! best bike I've ever had by a long way (as far as it being easy to go fast on) - its got enough torque low in the rev range to run a tall gear for slippy hard pack corners and enough power up top to put a smile on your face (pulls like a train when you rev it). Ideal bike for most people! Will be looking at replacing it in a few months, with a 16 350. Doubt I'll ever go back to a 450 again- the 350 is a lot more fun, and easier to ride faster for longer

I'm 47 and just like to ride. I could care less about the small changes they might make for 16. I'm riding a 5 year old 250f right now and with e start and just being new I'm sure I'll like it. For the 4000 I'm probably going to save having the "old" bike , I'm sure I'll be fine

For reference the last new bike I bought for myself was a 2000 KTM 300 mxc. And no, that's not where my screen name came from
The '16 is not going to be a small change it is big. I was told by shorty's father in law to wait for the '16 and from what I hear there will not be a FE 350 but it will get the updates of the FE.
I have a '14 just to not run the 4cs forks and had my suspension guy do mine but I will be going to a '16 when the price calms down.

Guys , what is the estimated power of the new 16' 350 SXF? And how much does it weigh , compared to the 450 , or most 450's? It's always been a bike in which I've wanted to test out. My Kawi 450 is just a damn brute with power and she aint all that light either.

Edit : BTW , when are the 16's supposed to hit the show room floors?
KTM 16s should be in stores around June/July, I would estimate...

what I felt was the front and rear tracked separately from each other in turns. Felt like I was always correcting with the bars. This was evident when I jumped on the aluminum frame bike. On the same track same day, it seemed the front and rear where in sync. This is just my feeling, not what others may feel.

Even at that, the motor on the 15 rips in 100% stock form.

Thank you Joe. I was thinking they were usually on a different time line from what the Japanese bikes were? Thought like AUG - Sept ?

The engine and clutch are great. Chassis feels good. This hinge I read about must not have been installed on my bike. Lol

I rode about 30 laps today and love the bike.

As much as I want to maintain a pure green stable with a 15 or 16 KX450 added to my 2006 KX250.... I cant see any reason not buy the 350 next year!

You're running a '14 just so you don't run the 4Cs forks? They're a major step forward from the 4C thoughBlink

Ladies - didn't the 350 finally become extinct like leg-warmers did in the 80's? Shiat, even Roger squashed that 350 in SX/MX AMA races in the states. Other than AC still riding one in EU, hasn't that old news story come and gone?

So let's see, first it was in 2011 the 350 would dominate all forms of MX, but after reading this thread, now some are suggesting the 2016 is really what they meant to say. Too funny.

The 350 has been one of the most over-hyped experiments in MX history.

Then there's BobPA who's got more opinions than assholes here on Vital. He's never been out of his state because his mom keeps him locked up downstairs, but if he's on good behavior, she'll throw him a piece of chicken every so often.

The hinge came on all the California bikes. Where they ride every day..365, no holidays. You can't do that anywhere else.

Who cares if the 350 isn't the bike of choice for pro's? For the rest of us, it's the perfect capacity. Unreal, useable power with arguably better handing.

Have you ridden one?

It's fucking excellent! And I'd bet there is a good chance you're faster on it than your current ride, it's incredibly easy to ride.

I didn't mind the 11. I love my 13. Suspension needs sorting but almost every bike bar SSS Yamahas do.

Then there's BobPA who's got more opinions than assholes here on Vital. He's never been out of his state because his mom keeps him locked up downstairs, but if he's on good behavior, she'll throw him a piece of chicken every so often.

You know me oh so well, she only allows me 30 minutes of Internet time per day...so I gotta split my time between RedTube and Vital.

At least we know you will spew your uninformed hate for KTM in every thread that you can. I applaud you for sticking to your guns....Even though your opinions are usually 10% accurate at best.

The 350 has destroyed the GP series since 2010...but it is a overhyped junk. AC, Mike Brown, Kalib Russell, Taddy Blaziiakiazkigdtak, and a host of others may argue differently. But to each his own

But if we base our opinions off what the pros do and ride. I guess we can say KTM 450's are unstoppable. Hondas can't get off the line or stay upright for more than one round. Suzukis do not have enough power to clear sx triples, nor can they keep it on 2. Kawasakis come with a box of tissues for all the crying and excuse making. Huskies make you listen to good music, but end up on your head more often than not.

I guess I should have let the bait go, but where is the fun in that?

Congrats to the OP for buying the most fun and versatile bike on the market. The minute the '16s hit the floor I will have on in my garage. Until then I'll ride my overhyped, hinged frame junk with a big old grin.

If you are ever in PA you are welcome to ride my bike, but seeing as you are in Illinois i know will be tough for you to pull outta your crackhead cousin for a few days...

no kidding right? where are you? WI? that explains it. Take a trip out to CA and educate yourself. We can ride everyday of the year and that makes it possible to get to know our bikes and how they work. Not just trail riding on a snow bank. Pffft, some people

Yeah you really get to know your bike on those hardpack dusty highways you call tracks. Do you sissies ever see actual ruts, or even braking bumps? id rather ride soft awesome dirt for 8 months than ride on concrete.

ill never understand the comments about California not having bumps or ruts. When I went to texas people were baffled that I could hit a rut.
