They shortened the race because of heat???? Lmfao. That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. It was only like 98-100 degrees??

Top Ten riders.....not in order of speed:
RV
AC
Dungey
DeSaille
Herlings
Rocsen
Paulin
Tomac
Canard
Nagl, Febrve, Musquin,Strijbos, Martin,Bam Bam

Thats five from each series

The last time I head the words, "he is on another level" were in September 2007 in Maryland. It was being said by a bunch of drunk British fans around me talking about Antonio Cairolli.

That was on Saturday shortly before qualifying. It got pretty quiet from there on out.

In Europe maybe. He's not coming over here and waxing everybody his first year.

The heat, tracks, food, it would take a season to learn.

That's also saying he can stay out of the party scene, being young and rich in so cal .....

It takes balls to leave the greatest Country on the planet to go race in shithole fields with Anti-American Bigots.
Greatest country on the planet? They went to the USA not Australia.

James had 3 moto wins outdoors this year and was on the rise before he had a major downfall after all the stuff going on. 5 Supercross wins..

He is faster than most on that list.

You put 250 riders on the list yet no JS7, I find that hilarious. Bam Bam is not on the same level as JS7 outdoors or indoors.

Eh no. RV had enough of racing in US and then (from what I understand) had to race something for the last year of his contract - not because he wanted too but it was going to cost him to get out of contract. HE THEN had the balls to go GP racing and IMO so far it seems to be working as seen him with a smile on his face a few times.

US fans need to realise that SX/ MX is a seriously long season and does take it toll and only a special few can cope with that for any length of time - eg RC retired (too) early, MC supercross only, on the other hand KW could handle it.

Leave it with you to come back with your thoughts..........
it is amazing how many wins Rc had retiring at 26. !!! what even more amazing is how relatively injury free he was too. I wonder is Rv could have come close to rickys records had he not missed 2 complete sx seasons and
2 outdoor seasons

What a sad place this forum has become. Almost every thread ends in a discussion about who is he best rider, whcih series is better, where the better riders are, etc etc etc.
But when i hear a european rider talk about RV i hear nothing but the utmost respect. When i hear RV talk about the European riders i hear the same thing. But some jerkoff's here who, let's be honoust, have proved absolutely nothing in their meaningless lives, keep on bashing on the GP series, theGP riders, the AMA series, RV,.... I have a few names on my list who i'm thinking about but i won't say them out loud. You probably know well enough yourself if you are one of them. If RV can give respect to AC, the other European riders and the series in general, and if all those European riders cangive respect to RV, then why can't you jerkoff's?

i was really hoping RV would track down Desalle and Cairoli, but i understand why he may not have. there are a lot of factors, being consistent early after a horrible weekend last week. the weather. Cairoli and Desalle were just riding great. who really cares. great race all around and props to RV for his first overall and also to Desalle for his red plate and Cairoli for his moto win. this is going to be an awesome season, that is apparent.

also, i have no fucking clue why anyone is bringing a guy that isn't racing ANY series right now into the topic. some of you guys just love fishing.

Sounds like the tender lady wouldn't like SX....
Must have hurt to see that tender lady smoke RV like a cheap cigar in the second moto...
I forget, who won the overall?

This week...when he got good starts, didn't crash twice (or was it three times?), stall on the gate, or have rear brake problems.

James finished 4th in the SX series last year and he really only had three really bad rounds. He only scored 1 point in each of the last two rounds and 4 at the opening round. 24 more points and he would have finished 2nd in the series. Also, James won 5 rounds last year which was more than any outer rider than RV. With RV out James would have been a title threat for sure especially considering that there is only one guy that out there now that is super consistent.

US Riders spend 75% of their year focusing on SX. They start outdoor testing 2 weeks before MX. After the season is over, it is back to SX.

SX
AMA Pro MX
GP MX

They are all different. GP tracks have a different flow. There are a lot more big singles, and they get choppier, as has been discussed here. Because they get so choppy and rough, they require a different set up (much softer if you believe that DV has a clue)

So what the heck does "best" mean. Best at SX? Best at AMA style MX? Best at GP MX? Best overall? OK...how to you weight each?

One thing I am pretty sure is that the top 10 AMA SX Pros will be a lot stronger in the GPs...than the top 10 GP riders would be in SX. TC has said many times that he has no desire to ride SX, and is not very good at it. He could not even main a 450 SX main without a LOT of work.

If we throw out SX....and just compare AMA MX to GP MX...I would say the fields are pretty comparable within the top 10. Outside the top 10...the AMA field is a lot deeper.

Im not completely sold on Rv being faster than Clement Desalle at the moment. You watch 2 races and now you are considering Rv being on of the two best riders in the world?
3/9/2015 3:46pm
The best rider in the world at the moment is the only one with the Red Plate..end of discussion.
