On the RV / Jose takeout thing.......I think it was just one of them things that irritated RV because it happened. I'm in the group that thinks Jose couldn't have known RV was even there and it was a total racing incident. Jose got pushed wide by the guy on his right , there really wasn't any where else for him to go. Besides the fact he was a full bike length in front of RV when it happened........no much he could have done.
Great interview. Definitely a fan. Made my balls swell right up just listening.
In 2009, I bet you all figured he'd pull out 4 straight sx titles against JS, CR, RD, KR, etc. too.
Let's see:
Moto 1 - stall and 3 crashes
Moto 2 - bad start and lost his rear brake
Yeah, he's probably going to be out of the title hunt.
Maybe he'll get more respect from his competitors considering how humble he sounds. I think he is doing great at representing America......and he is probably under the most pressure of his career. Every race for him this season is like MX DES Nations in some fans eyes.
Pit Row
I wouldn't be too worried about Ryan's start to the series. He's been in worse points deficits before after the first round and still gone on to win the Championship. Thailand would be a perfect place to start some positive momentum; new track for everyone.
It did seem very dismissive and if he knew he was from Spain then he would know his name so choosing to just say "some Spanish guy took me out... whatever I passed him 4 times" seems arrogant cause as you say he believes he is above him and on a track he may be but that's only on the track as a human he's equal..
I would've rathered to hear him say "oh I got hit by Butron I think his name was, but could've been a racing incident I dunno" Everyone knows he's way faster so no need to rub it in
But it's not about me and he doesn't owe me what I want to hear..
I'm just trying to clear up why people might not have appreciated the tone
It's really not that big of a deal, I just thought they were a little harsh on Butron. Especially since the guy actually apologised to RV on Instagram
It really doesn't matter in the big scheme of things. I was just thinking from Butron's point of view. He would probably be a little disappointed to hear that. Especially since RV is a guy he looks up to
Give him a break. Had he known his name he would have used it. Wasn't meant to be disrespectful at all.
You guys took a nice interview and focused on one small thing in an effort to disparage RV. We do it also.
I wasn't calling RV a dick for not mentioning Butron by his name. It was suggested that it was acceptable to not call someone by their name so that they didn't the impression they were as good as you. My point is that would be a dickish thing to do
In the past, I've found RV's interviews a bit arrogant.
He appears to have been humbled just a bit. Although you can tell, his is still one confident mofo.
