Maybe Reed just doesn't want a fan of his to be ripped off. 8K for an 05 model KX250. You'd want you name associated with that?

Very true ,his bike to sell but there has to be a reason that Chad is unhappy about his name being used.

The bike that Chad Reed rode for opening ceremonies for the throwback race in Atlanta supercross. The bike is a 2005 kx250 two stroke with factory Showa a-kit suspension. It has a brand new top end on it with a brand new cylinder head and a brand new works pro circuit pipe and has only been rode for the opening ceremony. It also has pro circuit triple clamps brand new renthal chain and sprokets and handlebars. The light wheels have been removed because he is using them again for more opening ceremonys but everything else remains the same. Also with the bike comes the gear he wore that night for the opening ceremony and the main event and both pants and jersey are signed. A percentage of the bike will be donated to the st Jude children's hospital. Anymore questions I can be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx

I copied and pasted the above from the eBay listing. I blocked out the guys phone #. Maybe this will take SOME of the speculation and assumption out of this thread. Carry on.

Absolutely!! And Reed is just asking that his name is not used and associated with his private sale. How's that not fair?

why is everyone so upset about a guy selling his bike for double the money its worth because he can? There's not a single person I know that wouldn't do the exact same thing . And who cares what he does with the money, donates it or keeps it, it's his money.

Seems like Chad would be happy for the guy if he is able to sell it. It's helping a privateer be able to race, a Reed fan will get to own the bike, and there is a possibility of some of the money going to St. Jude's Hospital. Those are all good things for Chad.

Reeds name is what brings the big dollars though. Just another KX-250 without the Reed connection.

Maybe Chad should of had his lawyers be more involved up front, maybe have written a contract. Sounds like this was all a handshake deal and now Cameron stands to make some money and poor little Chad Reed is all spun up. Lesson learned Chad, contracts up front bro.

I hope Cameron gets his $50 bucks from Walker.

So Cameron is not allowed to say that Chad rode it for opening ceremonies? Why not? Did they have an agreement to keep it super secret?

Next time I get an autographed jersey and want to sell it I'll make sure I don't include the "autographed by..." Piece in the description.

Which part of the contradiction between donating it to charity and trading it for a new 450 demo can't you understand?
How much % of the cash will be left if he trades it do ya think? Laughing

He's "Good bloking" himself and hoping to Increase the price using peoples gullibility in order to do so. Mind you. Judging by a fair % of the posts in this thread. Why not I guess Laughing

I'll be honest. My G.A.S. level on this is close to zero. But some of you sure seem to like the drama.

Do you watch soaps, too?

Oh, and if it sells for over $50k, I'd like to see the receipt from St. Judes.

Shhhhh! He never would have know that if you didn't point it out for him.

I'd say It's the fact the bloke is saying he'll make a charity donation but at the same time is trying to do a straight up trade.

Doubt Reed would want his name associated with something that's Obviously slightly shady. Or even possibly perceived in that way. Reed's name is his brand and what he makes his living from..

I guess Chad can always sue FELD. Sounds like they acted as a proxy in the KX-250 procurement. He might as well bring them into the law suit.

I wonder if Chads lawyer wears a suit or a Team 22 team uniform? Anyone ever see the lawyer on the track walks?

Chads becoming the Kanye West of Supercross.

Chad has always been a whiner

Remember him on the blue 250f when he whined that a start in from of james kx125 would net him a win ? James pulled over and then showed chad he wrong ..

Lost some respect for Reed with this one, I usually defend him but damn I don't know why he makes such a big issue out of this. It's Stone's bike he should be able to do whatever he wants with it. Hell, I know I'd do the same thing along with most on this board. That money would go a long way for me, I'm sure many could relate.

I've got to be around Cameron some and he's a super cool guy, just a hard working privateer. Fast too just check out his resume.
Reed is still allowed to voice his opinion. I remember getting a photograph that I took signed by him several years ago. He asked, "To who?" and I responded, "No one". He repeated himself , "To who?". I then gave him my daughter's name. Reed thought I was going to make a profit on a signed Reed photo and he caught a slight attitude. He figured if the autograph was made out to someone then it wouldn't have any resale value on Ebay. I don't know what motocross autographs go for and unless it's a signed jersey I figure $5.00 at most. If Reed was worried about one autographed pic then this Kx250 deal is driving him crazy. I'm a Reed fan but he is a little obsessed with the thought that people will make money off his name who haven't worked for it. In this case he may be right.
