A buddy of mine is getting rid of his 2006 cr125, his little brother rebuilt it and forgot a gasket on the head and the piston stroked out.
No cylinder damage, he says the crank bearing went. I would do a full rebuild so I trust it cause if he forgot something little like that chances are he forgot other things.

Anyways, just curious what your most trusted full rebuild kits are, and any experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does OEM sell a specific kit or do I have to just buy each part separately? I haven't even looked at the damn bike yet but I wanted to be able to research costs associated before I put in a solid offer.

You have to order the parts individually. Although you can get good quality gasket kits from a company like Cometic or Athena.

Either get the crank that is in there rebuilt or just buy OEM. Cometic or OEM gaskets.

I bought a Hot Rods main bearing kit for my KX last year. The wrong size bearing came packaged .(I'm 100% it was the correct part number listed for my bike) I called them and they told me it wasn't thier fault, it was the information they were given. I said to just send me the correct part since I've been delayed enough. Only they wouldn't get me a new one until I gave them my credit card number to charge me for the correct bearing. I thought they were joking. But no, it wasnt a joke. Thier customer service is.
How is that for standing behind your product?

You can always go with a pro-x crank. Built to OEM exact spec, great prizes.

Gaskets, OEM.

Think I am just going to go will all OEM. Not gonna offer him anything crazy for the bike, thinking around $500 then I can make it my own.

Thanks for the input.

Just be careful if you try to sell your 300 on craigslist or something... theres some real winners out there.
