Very cool. This is their first full-on MX version, isn't it? Wonder what the weight is. No doubt it would make incredible power for a 450.

Power of the twins is supposed to be incredible. Although they moved the power lower down the rpm range and gave the MX more torque compared to the supermoto and enduro version.

They made some significant changes to the MX model, including dropping the E-start in favour of a kick start. I'm not sure why they did that. Their twin with the e-start was supposed to already be smaller and lighter than the CRF450 engine. Anything that drops weight is a plus though.

Even with those tiny silencers it still meets 94db.

That's going to accept, what, three inch numbers on all the plates? The silencers are tiny, wow. Wonder what the price will run on that thing...

Yep, they only make a buzzing sound, very nice. Thye drove an Aprillia twin in the GPs a few years back. The bike looks nice BTW.

Cool looking bike. My opinion is that I'm still amazed that this bike has survived until now. Who on earth needs a twin 450, and think it's worth the extra time to wrench? And it's probably much more expensive than anything else.

Sober up and drop this fetish and make a single cylinder, and I'm sure there would be much more buyers?

It has been a total failure in MX as well? Newer close to a top ten. Ciodi was a top 10 rider before, and now he almost fail qualifying.

I have seen ONE private own bike since the first bike hit the GP a couple of years ago.

Sorry for the bashing. But it would have been cool with a new Euro player to counterbalance the Japanese domination. But this is not the thing...

They do pretty well in supermoto. The 550 won it's class in the world championships first year out.

If I recall correctly, in the later '70s or early '80s Honda came out with a works RC125M twin that could basically beat the sweet holy hell out of everything. So naturally the FIM banned twins from motocross and that ended that.

Get used to the trellis frame...we're probably going to see more of them over the next few years (at least on the European brands). I could be mistaken, but I believe it ties into the "old ideas that are new again" in which the frame is basically a cradle for the motor and improves CoG, handling, etc. Husky is testing it and I thought I saw a KTM proto as well.

In related news, have you seen the Aprilia Dorsoduro motard bike? Total bike porn Whistling in my eyes and it makes me want a street bike!

that thing looks bulky as hell, except for the places you want some bulk (aka the sidepanels) what is it with the euro companies making it impossible to have a # on the bike?

na they did it amatuer also. In a same sweeping move they outlawed two wheel drives too. I was going to ask to get them both deleted. I can't see how it matters that much.

not sure "who" asked for it last year, or why. My skeptical nature would lead me to believe that the OE's didn't want either to compete in amatuer stuff or compete for sales, hence the rule change. Not like 20 of them twins will line up at LL ??

I suppose we should ban electric's to huh? LOL.

More cylinders w/ the same displacement in the same state of tune will alwasy make more hp due to additional port area and higher revs.

So to contain cost they stick to singles lest we have Honda built another 6 cylinder 125cc motor like they did in the 60s. The pistons must've looked like thimbles.

Good for them. Might be enough market? As I MX bike I still see no future. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't buy one as long as it has that overkill engine. Maybe off topic, but I have only seen a few people where their skills asked for more than an ordinary 250F. The design looks cool though...

Very cool looking bike & glad to see someone thinking outside the 4 stroke single box. Weight is the issue. If it's anywhere near the singles it could be a killer. No wonder they won't let the pros race them.

im not gonna start another thread but ive been looking at the new Husabergs and they have a completly new and radical motor/frame design that is really cool to check out...one bummer is that there is no purpose built moto bike just enduro models in 2 displacments...i have always loved to look at these bikes!
