Holy shit Jeff... I go to the track to ride ( rode like absolute shit by the way) come back and you try to eat some humble pie and still get all shit over by some of these a holes.

The thing That surprised me most of the last 24 hours is there are some bitter pricks over there... And surprisingly a couple apologetic maroons on this side of the ocean trying to sound all holier than thou and high falutant like they are looking down their noses because we were being too "American" for their tastes!

What's your prediction? I'll state:

450F

1. AC222
2. Paulin
3. RV - oh no, gets more comfortable and more aggressive

Don't have time to read all the replies, but good for you Jeffro. I can't say I expected what happened, but I am glad it's interesting. Considering Cairoli didn't do so hot either, I'm not worried. It's a long season, Ryan is an immensely talented individual, it will shape up to be a great season.

dude.. Jeff... I got your back... no worries!!!! Tongue

And holy shit... even 500 guy agreed with me!!!! Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo

and to quote one of the greatest movies of all times "meat balls"

"And even if we win, if we win, HAH! Even if we win! Even if we play so far above our heads that our noses bleed for a week to ten days; even if God in Heaven above comes down and points his hand at our side of the field; even if every man woman and child held hands together and prayed for (RV2 to win) us to win, it just wouldn't matter because all the really good looking girls would still go out with the guys from Mohawk because they've got all the money! It just doesn't matter if we win or we lose. IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER! "

I am expecting nobody to get a consistent 1-1 in that place, it's going to be hard and very hot work Sick

edit:
removed RV from my podium, don't see it just yet.

Qatar is way different to any other track in Europe
You will not find any track even remotely close to that.

Its not sand its not hard pack its is just a marketing race nothing else.

The real season starts when they are back from overseas.

RV has a way to go hope he get it sort out quick the top 5 guys are really close.
And he is not there yet!

Nope he isn't. in the beginning I remember an interview where he struggled with finding healthy food.

I start laughing I am from Europe and live in the USA since some years.
The other way around make sense but guess its all a point of view.

So yeah....my prediction of RV running away with the first round didn't go over as the way I had hoped. So instead of posting a reply at the end of my big dumb thread , I'll just post this here.

I wasn't the only one who thought RV might run away with this first round. In fact , many GP guys jumped in that thread and said he might do it to. So take your best shots .....I aint gonna lose any sleep over it. The GP regulars rode great yesterday and beat RV strait up and very convincingly. I could write up some excuses here , but I won't.

Go ahead and have your fun this week.....but just remember , when the tables turn , I'll probably bring it back 10 fold. I'm not worried one bit that RV will get his feet back under him and do us proud over here. Long series with plenty of racing left. And for those of you that post stupid shit like " RV placed where he did....because that's his true speed ".........you are going to be the ones I'll rub it in the most when he proves you wrong . So take your shots and live it up now. It won't last long.
I had him to win Qatar too, I still had AC for the title (just) but I thought Qatar would suit RV and he would be motivated to make a statement. But Anyone counting RV out of winning the title based on Qatar is dumb. However he did get a shock at the speed and depth of GPs... these boys are fast and versatile! Plus if he keeps riding with that aggression he might not make all the remaining 17 races.

BTW Thailand should suit him with the heat and softer ground. I had RV to win two of the first three at least and then find the going tougher once they hit round four in Italy. But he has found it tough quicker than I thought.

I think he will be out for revenge big time in Thailand and with the humidity and softer looking track it should suit his strengths perfectly, if he doesn't win there I will be surprised plus no-one will have raced the track either before.

If he doesn't win Thailand, he is going to have to figure something out pretty quick because it's only going to get harder from here on with the tracks.

If he has gone back to Belgium between races he's also going to have jet lag to add to his list of problems.
