Dungey looks better than ever, he'll he's making me consider a ktm. And by chance or not Roczen just hasn't been the same since leaving Aldon. Is this all coincidence or is Aldon's program just that good. I'm skeptical, but shit he sure seems to have a good influence on his riders.

Yeah, the KTM's look good in those races. Thank god you can buy the same bikes from dealers, or hold on a sec...

KTM never won campionships in the US and they sucked (according to the pro benchracers). Now they start pulling ahead a bit and suddenly they make quality stuff. Grinning For a mere mortal IT DOES NOT MATTER you will be equally fast on any major brand. It's the combination of rider and team that makes a bike work at that level.

Bingo and I thought the same thing..... the Baker Dunge combo is lethal. Dunge is on the gas and Baker Boys go 1-1 in Dallas.

Folks her is Aldon Baker's Record in SX:

RC SX Titles - 2001-2003, 2005, 2006
JS SX Titles - 2009 (only one SX title with Bubba?)
RV SX Titles - 2011-2014

motocross involves a lot of crashing, and taking hits to the head. most people on this forum are good examples of what that can lead too.

i think everyone started thinking they made quality stuff, when they decided to do a major overhaul, bring in a bunch of new staff (Rodger D for ex) and then winning was just the cherry on top.

Correlation is not causation. Is Aldon a good trainer? I think no one will disagree that he is. But it's a stretch to say Roczen not winning is a result of him leaving Aldon. Remember last year when he was with Aldon? He started the season strong, but faded a bit. Same thing happened outdoors. Luckily he had won enough early on that his points lead was sustained to the end.

Hmmm..... isn't that a pattern in his American Moto/Supercross career?

Aldon is boot camp basic training all year long, on top of the pressure that the racing seasons bring.

Rider's who can endure that and stay with it, will be at their very peak of physical conditioning and mentally tougher than a $2 steak.

We've seen plenty of guys who get a little spoiled by success and don't want to endure the workload that Aldon requires and think they've learned the ropes enough to go it alone. Time and again though, we see those guys quickly fall of the pace of the next rider that Aldon takes on.

His record is as impressive as it gets, and those that stick with him all seem to rise to their best results, if not the top step of the podium.

Hiring him is a no brainer if you want the best trainer in the business. Firing him, seems to be a start down the path to obscurity.

I understand what OP is saying, and in sports, psychology is a big part of it at the top level. RC has stated that bringing Aldon on and getting in to the shape he did was one of the main reasons he did so well.

Follow that with the successes of the riders who followed and you have a great resume for Aldon. Top riders want to train with him for a reason.

This year KR left Aldon and Dungey join him. We still have many races to go to see how it pans out, nobody has won it yet. Though should Dungey win that would just raise Aldon's stock even more.

Nobody is saying that the only way to win is with Aldon, we will see non-Aldon riders win the championship.

For starters......I am a fan of Aldon Baker and his methods. He has an unmatched record in the moto world.

He has the ability to draw an extra 1-3% out of a certain type of athlete. It doesn't work on every top flight racer but those who can adapt have exceptional success. There are many who haven't been able to adapt. That is the difference...... do you have the mentality to go beyond what seemed possible ??

At that level the combination of many factors (including training) combine and you have champions.

The commitment required to perform and adapt to "Aldon's way" is beyond the reach of many.

Considering we have all the industry insiders and experts on everything. What do you all figure Bakers fee is for a year of training a SX rider?
2/16/2015 6:29pm
Yep, Aldon the Great has turned a lot of champions into champions.

Please explain the contradiction .............

You are correct that his record reflects the riders he works with, his success stories are taking a champ and helping him become legend. As I stated......that extra 1-3% is the difference at the very top level.

It is unlikely that AB would ever go to a kid at LL and say " I'm giving up the good money and the acclaim to work with unknown riders from now on"........why would he ?

I think a kid like Roczen, and maybe Stewart have more natural talent and genetics that an RC or RV. Probably why to them Aldon was too much. A chubby kid like RC or a kid that still remembers getting his ass kicked by Alessi, those guys are more to apt to want it bad enough, and need that kind of training to succeed.

Dungey is killing it right now and it looks like he's riding a wave of confidence.

i would attribute that ability to be aggressive and confident to training with Aldon, but Dungey has always been faster than hell so i can't give Aldon ALL the credit.

props to them both.

also, i hope Kenny get's a win soon and stops the bleeding

That new ktm and dungy are looking great right now and much smoother then the beginning of the season.
As far as the aldon effect for a moment look beyond supercross to the outdoors. Dungy has always been great outdoors but if he and this new ride look this smooth and work this well together out there, then you add aldon...... They could have a fantastic unreal summer.

Even if it is nothing more than a boost to Ryan's psyche knowing he has Baker in his corner and Ken does not it is valuable imho. Obviously RD has built a very solid foundation doing what he has in the past but I have to believe he is the type that is more than willing to let Aldon tune him up both mentally and physically.
