250 race was pretty good that year too. When cairoli won the moto beating all the 450s then threw out a nac nac celebration. Good stuff

What a weekend that was. I can remember the crowd going crazy when Cairoli passed Tedesco and Everts rode around the outside of stewart in his last race. What an atmosphere. It's a shame team Belgium had to mechanical failures. What a way that would've been for Everts to go out. Leading Team Belgium to victory

well done.... well done indeed... shall i just assume a picture of an Eagle , or some guy waving a flag.

I suppose the fact that your National champion is a German, and your #1 rider hates racing there so much that he came to live and race here is lost on you.

Not worth mentioning . They've been sucking hind tit at the des nations for two decades now.

Funny how out of Everts' many great accomplishments that one pretty much meaningless pass is viewed as a crowning moment in his career . It's a slight to a great champion.

It was his final race. Great way to end your career going 1-1 in the biggest race of the year in front of a huge crowd...

I wonder if you'd call it meaningless had it been the other way around. I think not.

Anyway, no-one said that was the highlight of his entire career. Just that weekend

No it's not lost at all. I was just pointing out that that race is called des nations, not Europe versus the US. So when I see a bunch of guys from the GBR bring the results of that race up, they claim the accomplishments of other countries as there own.

I personally don't care what country the winner of the nationals come from and RV himself has said its due to the lighter schedule over there versus here. If we had the same type of schedule here I'm pretty sure he would have stayed.

If it was in a losing cause yes I would call it meaningless . But I do concede it it was a good end to a fantastic career. I like Everts and have always loved the GPs . I'm just showing I can troll as well as my friends across the pond.Wink

its only a lighter schedule for him... for everyone else , they will be racing pretty much every off GP weekend.

It was better than I expected, sometimes the big names do just enough to earn start money, but that super final was awesome, Strijbos wanted it but really had to earn it, Tixier rode the wheels off that 250f, was the only guy other than Shaun really launching the ski jump into trees after turn two.

Fair point then, I like and respect Dunge I just don't like when people can't admit that for a majority of their careers, RV was just faster.

Can't decide whether this is all just tongue-in-cheek bravado, or whether some of the AMA guys really are going to get the shock of their lives when they see that the top GP riders are very, very fast as well. Especially on 'home' turf . . .

And this isn't just me being biased as a fan of the GPs. For example, when people were saying that Herlings would smoke the field at Unadilla, I was arguing that this would be unlikely, given the context (new track, new format, etc).

Genuinely don't think there's much between the AMA and the GPs in terms of talent, which is why this is going to be such a brilliant season. Hopefully Cairoli Vs Villopoto can be an all time classic rivalry.

such a rad picture, this is at the Utah national round and he was absolutely amazing that day (not surprising)

his ability to attack a track is un-matched, really looking forward to the MXGP's this season

Surly, you need to recheck the forum rules. Logic and balance are clearly disallowed here.
