I've met jimmy Weinert a few times. His training facility is down where I'm at, I've been there, and he brings his riders out to the local races. He's a super nice guy. He's also a nut, lots of fun to listen to and be around.

Met a couple myself but only one stands out back when Steel City was the last race of the season and Ryan Sipes rode for KTM i think maybe it was MDK KTM.. We were at our camp site screwing off and Sipes walks up and we get him a beer and he starts drinking a couple with us and we were on the verge of walking around to go check out some other parties he walked around with us and watched us do stupid shit it was pretty cool and i think he had some fun cause he laughed at us the whole time!

Met Roczen. He took pictures with my kid and was kind enough to wait while I screw around with my cell phone. I had it on video and couldn`t understand why I can`t take pictures. Ha.Whistling

I went to Gary baileys mx school back in the mid 90's. Well of course I met him, and he had Travis pastrana there as a guest teacher. He was just moving on to the 125's. Awesome kid, and it started to rain, and his mom was there. She walked over and put her umbrella over me, and she and Travis talked to me for awhile. She is a very attractive lady!!! I also met bob Hannah, just like I thought he would be, very cool and straight forward. Now my son is racing, and we went to Unadilla this past year, we met roger DeCoster, he signed my boys KTM hat and was really nice. Than we met grant Langston decent guy, and a lot of you guys rag on chad reed, but he took several pics with my son, and chatted for awhile. I thought he was a cool dude. Oh, also met RC at arenacross, nice dude, and met Doug Henry in 93 at broome-tioga 125/250 national, really awesome guy.

Met numerous pro mxers, but spend a lot more time around pros from another sport... They seriously are no different than you or i... After you are around them enough you find that out... They have their good days and their bad, just like u and me..

Yeah Travis it did. I think most of it was shot over in Astoria OR. So was the Goonies if I remember right. I'm actually in Portland Oregon right now , but moved here 3yrs ago from St Helens OR. Which is about 45mins NW of here. In that little town a few years ago , a film crew came into town and started shooting some stupid Vampire movie.....and I was thinking " man what a cheesy movie this is gonna be ".......They were filming the first Twilight movie...haha.

And yeah man...." Stand by me " was a great movie! Actually filmed the year I graduated high school. Cool that you remember it.

Wow that is weird. I met Mike a few different times and always thought he was really cool. A freind of mine named Larry went to school with Mikes wife ( From like Sherwood OR area ). Anyways , my friend Larry had a wife named Bridget whom worked for Nike. She was the one gal who supplied Mike and team owner Phil Alderton ( spelling ) with all their Nike shoes. So for quite a few years we used to always get press passes. Been friends with a lot of guys who went pro for many , many years and it gave me the chance to meet just about everyone I ever wanted too back in the day. Lots of good memories.

He might have been having a bad day. Being in the pro pits for a few years and being asked for everything from plastic to riding gear, gets old real quick. We had junk and were still asked for it. So I tried to keep that in mind, when I offered to purchase used fibers.

I've met lots of Pro's over the years, racing, wrenching, and/or simply hanging out,..They're just people,..some are cool, some are not, some have good days and bad, just like anyone, and some just don't know what to say all the time, LOL! Standoffish, doesn't always mean asshole, but then sometimes it's as plain as "if you can't say something nice,..", and there are plenty of "fans" that get under their skin, no different than human nature can in any aspect. Yea, it may be part of the job in a sense, but we all have our crappy days at work, now don't we! Catching someone at a bad time, be it the day, or the point in their life, for what ever reason, doesn't define who they are. Sometimes these guys are simply like many whos personalities change with the uniforms and titles they wear at work. In general, most of them appreciate the recognition for their hard work, and commitment, and are as approachable as possible, but there's always going to be someone who pees in the pool too, Hah!

Met a few including RC and JS. All were pretty cool guys. I found it easier to talk about stuff like wakeboarding,shooting, music or other stuff than MX. I think most guys probably get sick of getting the same moto questions over and over and talking about something I maybe as good at or better than them at made conversation more interesting for all of us.

yeah man....they are all human and have good and bad days just like the rest of us. More than likely.......if the top guys aren't winning , they are having a bad day. Where most of the fans are all having a great time watching the races.

You know one year around like 01' , 02 , 03....one of those years. We all walked back to the pit with Mike after the podium interview. The tables back in the pit were full of stuff and one of his buddies offered him a beer. So he hands off his 1st place trophy to me and asks to hold it for a few minutes. Put a huge smile on my face. And with my other hand I grabbed one of the beers and we ended up drinking a couple together and just bench racing with me holding that damn trophy for a good 20mins....I didn't want to give it back haha!

Here is the real kicker. My friend Larry was there to pick up one of Mikes 250cc practice bikes with the teams A-kit suspension on it and everything. ( I think he was racing the 125cc class though? ) He was supposed to wait a few weeks to ride it until the team could ship the stock suspension to him before he rode it. They wanted that A-kit stuff back. A few weeks went by and Mike called Larry and said...." Go ahead and keep the suspension Larry.....we won't need it because we are switching to Yamaha's next year " ( Think it was Yamaha? ).

Anyways....all the times I hung around Mike was something really cool and it left me with some great memories.

I met K-Dub and Michael Byrne many years ago as a kid while at a Pro National at Mt. Morris. Both of them were very nice and took time to say hi and sign a poster and ask if I was having fun. Year ago back in Vegas we bumped into Tyler Evans in the pits (shirtless and full of tattoos) he was the nicest guy to me and took a picture and said hello. My wife and I went to Unadilla this summer and had pit access for her first time and met a Jimmy Albertsons wife (close enough lol) Georgia and she was one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. The same goes for Britney Chisholm at East Rutherford SX in 2014, spoke to my wife for a few minutes and was very down to earth.

Yea its was super random that we almost bumped into him at that time and I just said "hey nice to meet you and can I have a picture?" He was really accommodating and asked if my dad, uncle, and I were having fun in Vegas and the race. I think that was around the same time frame he was running for some of the top privateer awards.

I met Pastrana in San francisco walking out of a Hotel. All I said to my buddy is "Holy Shit that is the Pastrana he is a GOD on a motorcycle" and he hear it and walked up to me and said thanks for the comment and started bullshitting with me.

I have the token Pastrana thumbs up pic of the meet..came out blurry though :-(

You should post those pics on Dean wilsons and M800 site or instagram, their both on the mend with knee injuries and feeling a bit down at the moment and a picture like that answers a lot of questions why they work so hard all year long...these guys are all heros to us and we need to give them all the support needed so that they can feel like they are part of something much bigger than just racing.

Yeah 199 is a stud for sure on and off the track...I wish he would have raced more years but when your a jack of all trades, your gonna have to give yourself the opportunity once it comes along.

I was with a buddy one year and we met McGrath in his prime. All was cool, then my buddy gave him a surprise hug, held on a tad too long. The look on MC's face was priceless.
