Not so weird, maybe funny.

I was riding trails with Lee Stevens, KTM out of Georgia. I was leading and came around a corner, hit a stump and the bike spit me. The bike continued ghost riding and ran up a partially downed tree and got stuck about 6 feet up in the tree, just hangging there as if it was part of the damn tree! I quickly got up and and Lee and another rider are looking at me like..WTF.....both bike's engines are cut off, stares back and forth........silence......? That akward moment where not even you can explain how the hell that just happened!

I was on travel for work to Ridgecrest California (China Lake) and met some desert racers while I was there. They borrowed a bike for me and showed me what it was like riding out in the high desert. 5Th gear pinned down fire roads at around 70-80 MPH on a CRF450X was quite different as my motocross bike had never seen 5th gear, EVER.

We were doing a rocky single track along a ridge and off to my left in a several thousand foot (at least) valley a C-5 or C-17 cargo aircraft was flying along actually below us. I was wearing my go pro. I'll see if I can dig up the video for you guys. Pretty cool to be riding higher than a plane.
Please find that vid!

Some guy died while riding at cross creek mx like in 08. Dude was just dead laying by the track. They threw a sheet over him till the ambulance got there to get him but everyone just kept riding. Was weird rolling through the corner and there's just a dead guy right there. I left shortly after lol. Least he died doing what he loved I guess
I was pitted next to that guy and behind him when he collapsed on the track. He had a heart attack. He just fell over at rolling speed.

Couple months ago, my wife bought an armband phone holder for $35. She asked me if I wanted one for when I went riding and I told her that was too much. Next day I went riding- and found an armband phone holder in the middle of the trail. A few days later, I told her I needed a rechargeable drill. Next day I went riding, and........found an 18 volt drill and charger laying beside the road, placed carefully as if someone was storing it there lol. Probably the strangest week ever. She accused me of being a wizard. I cannot explain either incident.
I could think of a few things you shoulda asked for next, then went straight to the trail.

Did a trip to try and find some spots to ride near the great sand dunes national monument. We actually found some decent dunes and were having a great time when a rancher showed up and said that we weren't allowed to ride there. So we went to the other side of the valley and camped for the night. The next morning we got up and decided to do a quick scouting ride and see what we could find. About 5 minutes from camp we came up on a barbed wire gate. These are just wires with two poles and kind of a pain to open and close. So after closing the gate we take off hauling ass across the desert terrain. about 1.5 miles in we come over a rise and and a herd of about 100 buffalo about 100 yards right in front of us. They were pissed and came charging at us. Full on Stampede. Needless to say we looked at each other and did a 180 and started shifting gears hauling ass back towards the gate. I was in all red on red bike so they seemed to be chasing me more than my pal on the Suzuki. Well we were 5th gear tapped out all the way back to the gate. we barley got the gate up when they were about 50 yards away. They came trotting up and were snorting and pawing the ground. Scariest time of my life knowing they could plow that barbed wire right down. went back to camp cooked breakfast and got the hell out of there. Not many legal spots to ride up there haven't been back.

I saw a man die last year at Eddieville GP course during the 6hr race. I was on my first lap and saw 2 bystanders performing chest compressions on someone and the 2nd lap (20 mins later) the ambulance had arrived. I later heard he had a heart attack. It was a terrible feeling motoring on by knowing a man had died in one of the corners.

Jesus- they tossed a sheet over him and kept riding? Seriously? That is enormously fucked up.
Yeah I had a similar situation. I took my younger cousin to his first HS race. I come up on a group of people standing around a downed rider. The guys bike looked exactly like my cousins. I thought for sure it was him. I tossed my bike and went over. It wasn't him, but I've never been able to get the scene out of my head. I ended up high tailing it to the finish line and alerting the crew. They stopped the race of course. That's totally messed up that they kept your race going.

I told my wife I needed a briefcase full of money being carried by a 19 year old brunette bikini model who loved anal. Lol. Needless to say the wish fairy didn't deliver. That drill comes in handy though lol.

Wheeling up a fireroad south of Reno and Mustang on a quiet morning and came across a herd of wild horses.. Biggest black stallion ever seen standing front and center, hung like a pornstar and not afraid to show it either. He wasn't budging, maybe he was in the middle of some morning action, and he was pissed! I found another way around that little mesa!

Back in '81 a few of us Minnesota boys headed to Florida to ride the winter series and stay all winter. We lived in St. Petersburg and traveled from there. We would ride crooms quite a bit for practice. One day riding some single track stuff we came across this pond down in this hole in the woods. We stopped and slid our way to the bottom. Much to our amazement was an Aligator or crokidile laying on this island in the middle of the pond. It was at least eight feet long. Instead of getting out of there we started throwing rocks at it. Not long after that the irretated beast slithered into the murky water and vanished. Needless to say so did we.

I was out in the Utah desert. For those familiar with Miller Motorsports Park, there is an area to the west thats Salt Flats like with little island looking things everywhere. These Island things are sometimes a city block sized things, and stand 5-6 feet high. Perfect jumps and you'll never find the same one twice. I saw a group of cars and trucks off in the distance, but did not think twice of it. There were a bunch of kites, so I thought it was some sort of kite flying club.

I jumped on top of one and went to drop off the other side. I could have, except there was a gathering of Naturalists. There were naked peopel in every direction. I made a - turn and left..

Late afternoon, helped a very attractive girl re-start her dead Suzuki dr 350. I'm sure she was over 18, but I dont know. She was wearing riding boots, and thats it. As a perfect gentleman would do, I asked her to hold up my yz 250 (no kick stand). It was obvious she needed help, and was way too small to start it. There was a bath towel covering the seat. I suppose to protect the seat from the various naked asses that ride that day. I was way more uncomfortable than she was. I moved the towel up to the bars. Nothing good happened, I go riding there all the time and have never seen anything like it again.

In the 90's, a mountain lion eating a deer in the simi hills, while on a ride from Hondaland. The fucker barely even looked up at us as we rode by. Needless to say, we didn't stick around to watch.

Last story was good, but this was the worst. We were 8 years old, riding our minibikes. Right off the Delle, Ut exit. Opposite side of the service station. This was one of the years when the service station was out of business.

My fried and I are riding parallel to the railroad tracks. A railroad access road. We saw a pink colored cloth a mile or so ahead. As we got to it, we realized it was a dead girl. The haunting part was the blood trail. You could see tire tracks tracks and a ten foot long, double blood trail, then a serious amount of blood.. We looked closer and could see her throat had been cut. It looked as if they did it rig t by a car, then drug her to a patch of sagebrush. She was 19 years old and had been involved in Nevada prostitution.

We went and got our dads. My dad worked for the railroad and had his radio with him. He used his radio to call the yardmaster in San Francisco and relayed the information back to the local police. The police were angry because we had walked up to the body, but I remember explaining we did not know what was laying there and wondered what all the red stuff was. If felt like too much for a body to hold.

Back in the spring i was going to go riding with some friends on a woods loop we ride all summer. I got there early so i figured i'd go around once before everybody got there. i was just sitting down cruising when i came around a corner and saw a guy doing his girl bent over the back of his four wheeler, i just went by and waved he waved back without missing a stroke.
got back to where i parked and told my friends that just showed up what i saw and they called bullshit. About five minutes later the couple come out of the woods on the four wheeler and the dude throws us the thumbs up...

I had one of those Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Tenere things that i rode around Australia. I was in the outback riding along a dirt track in the middle of the night and i noticed a glow next to me. I thought it was a bush fire. When i looked over to my left, it was a meteorite going past me. I still remember a blue flame/glow wrapped around it as it passed by heading in the same direction as me.

This one sticks out in my memory. Was riding down a tight straight trail in 4th or 5th gear and all of a sudden a big goose comes out of the brush, standing tall, wings spread out, and I had no other option but to pull up on the front and pin it. Ran that crazy goose over and killed it.

There are some good stories in here.

Right, but when did you take your whey isolate? Did you pre load it?

Back when I was about 8 we were riding at this little track in the bush which wasn't very far from a built up residential area, and there was a cows head laying on the track, no body, just the head. There were no farms or any cows anywhere near where this riding spot was. Shit story compared to the ones in here.

Bro, that was when I had my 99 yz125. No whey protein back then for me. Probably weighed 140lbs. I was probably roasted from the old devils lettuce though.

I'm impressed that you had the wherewithal to stand 'er up in 5th gear and run over a goose.

My Parents live out in the middle of what I like to call Goat country. It's fucking hills, rocks, sticks and scrub.

About 25 kays from their house, in the bush, on the top of a hill only accessible by KTM300 or foot, is a hut–roof is about 5 feet tall, shit everywhere and looks somewhat inhabited... and it's creepy as fuck. I've ridden past it twice, both times have not stuck around to see who or what is in there, but I'm guessing some ass raping or drugs are being done there for sure... fucking creepy.

Crazy these little shacks in the middle of nowhere! There was one out in the bush near Minmi off the F3 motorway.
The dude had a little track that ran around his corrugated iron shack. He looked like the guy in Hillbilly's profile pic, and if you didn't know him, which luckily one of the guys we were riding with did, he would greet you with a shotgun.

Back in the late 90's I lived about a 1/2 mile from the local track. One morning in the middle of the week I just rode my bike over to the track ( keep in mind this is small town Montana). I show up in time to see a tow truck pulling a burned out car behind it and a county sheriff cruiser following it.

Weird I thought but then I notice there is someone else riding around my backwoods rock pile track. The guy is riding a Kawasaki 125 with pro circuit/splitfire graphics and he is hauling ass! Turns out this dude is none other than David fuck'n Pingree!

After I got up the nerve to stop and talk to him while he was taking a break he said the burned out car had been on the track and still smoldering when he got there. Crazy day. Ping is originally from MT and so I always kinda rooted for him but after that day I can say that dude is as cool and real as they come. That was An awesome day!

I was riding back in the late 80's at Fort Ord near Monterey, Ca. We were on this sand track and it was winter time. The sun was getting low and the lighting was going away. I could hear a 4 stroke ( or so I thought) somewhere on the track but I couldn't see anyone.. I started looking around, couldn't see anyone else, but could still hear the motor. Shortly after we realize it was a black hawk copter flying right over our heads... and following us around the track.

So we were headed for our truck near by and the pilot of this thing hovers it like 5 feet off the ground about 50 yards from us. He faces the us with the copter and points the guns at us as well. We look at each other then at the copter as if to say "hey... what's the deal"... he stays there in a hover for 5 mins or so then takes off. We got the feeling that if you ever get chased by someone in one of those and they want to kill you you're pretty much dead!
