Seth Enslow's dislike for Robbie Knievel

Edited Date/Time 12/31/2014 7:08am
It's been documented here and there since Seth's rise to fame in the first Terrafirma series's in 1995 ish. Iv'e seen footage of Seth ridiculing Robbie and i just wanna know where it stems from?
Yeah i get that they are both distance jumpers, is that the only reason? seth thought he was better etc.

To be honest, they both wreck more than succeed and don't look to have much natural talent BUT both have huge Kahoola's for the things they attempt/attempted. I just watched Robbie's world record Grand Canyon attempt from 1999 and Seth's from Deegan's property a few years ago. Both looked exactly the same to me, over jump, bounce, wreck, but both records were set. Surely you have to 'land' for it to be a successful world record? it just seems like an 'all balls and no brains' sorta thing otherwise.

Rookie White pretty much pissed all over the both of them the other week if you ask me, no prepping take offs and landings, just go for it. balls AND brains (except for the other guys on the track, that was i tad silly).

I would think so but when Hart back flipped and crashed they called that a world record too so..

I think RK said after one of his jumps that all the young and up and comers sucked so thats where the envy started

You're probably right.

Knievel doesn't really impress me. His dad did. Jumping insane crap on a Harley. . .

Ahh fair enough,

I gotta admit RK rambles on about how he can 'control the bike mid air by tapping the back brake to bring the front end down or blipping the throttle to bring the front end up'. I have not yet seen this happen on his jumps lol, looks like hes just along for the ride to me, landing at a 45 degree angle on his back wheel.

After a sweet no hander tho

http://youtu.be/MLejkyXbJlc

if THIS dont make your palms sweat, i dunno what will. Just imagine what sort of noise he made in that helmet as he dropped off that roof! he was quoted as saying 'if they offered me another 2 million to do that again, id say no'

Seth has 100% more talent than RK, but that's not saying much.

Seth became instantly famous when he "exploded" on the first Crusty film (I believe he was a gear too high, but at least he didn't need to go to the hospital!). IMO, Seth and Robbie are cut from the same clothe so-to-speak; the ability to block out fear and huck themselves. The only difference is that Robbie had a family paved path where as Seth blazed his own trail.

Rusty had them both beat, bro.

i swear i went riding with a "Rusty" one time down in Moab, i just shook my head all day. every time he started his bike i made sure to watch what dumbass thing he was going to do. if i had to count how many bone-head moves he made throughout the day i would run out of fingers and toes. i ran into him a few months ago and i'm actually surprised he's not dead yet.

The footage in the movie is pretty old so I'm sure the record has been beat.

Either way, it takes major sack to fly that far.

Must have missed Seth in the Terrafirma videos in my cabinet. Have him in Crusty Demons jumping a dune by pinning it with no talent. But RK doesn't have much, out the WWF circus, either

Really you think that Robbie Knievel is at all good at distance jumping? That dude has worse form than most 65 riders and is just a straight up goon. His whole career was nothing but riding on his Dad's coat tails. Evel was gnarly though.

Seth Enslow before becoming infamous from crusty flicks was just another weekend warrior in Western New York. He raced with some of my older friends when I was on minis and remember it. A novice to mid pack AM rider at best. Dude wasn't scared to go big when the cameras were rolling though

i always tell non moto people when they bring up robbie k. hes not that good. he wouldnt make all the jumps on an average sx track. robbie madison has them all covered imho. no fear and super talented.

To me Robbie Knievel wasn't very impressive, saw him ride and jump in person a couple of times and honestly think he was just riding on his old man's name and his own lack of common sense. Seth Enslow is only famous because he was in the right place at the right time and had a little skill and a ton of balls. I had the chance to ride with Alex Harvill in the dunes before he set any records or anyone had heard of him and he is a super nice kid, a very talented motorcycle rider and has HUGE balls!!!

Both are no talent hacks. Seth got smoked by a bunch of 14 year old novices at LACR then they all made fun of him and he loaded up and went home.
12/30/2014 6:45pm
Seth Enslow is all balls and no brains???

See...this is why I come here. To learn shit.
And you are saying Robbie Knievel is not master of the craft? Explain.

I was a big fan of ryan capes. Scummys big jumps were always really entertaining. I love being glued to the t.v. for guys like Maddo, Trigger, Robbie, Evel, Capes, Seth, Cinq, and Levi. Its a shame that kids 425ft jump was so secret. The redbull new years and big air at xgames were some of the greatest moments in sports history. And as far as any of you that are "not impressed" grow up and show some respect.

I've never compared Evel to modern distance jumpers. It's two completely different eras.
Evel was a daring innovator, just as Robbie Madison is today. His Vegas Arc de Triomphe jump is a masterpiece.

I've raced a 74 cr250 on a modern motocross track some of the jumps were probably close to that size. I very clearly remember watching Robbie Knievel do a stunt jump at PIR in Portland and not having a doubt that any decent motocrosser including myself would've easily jumped it. Motocross racers weren't the Knievel's target audience. But the things that Evil did were awesome and inspiring for the time.

Rookie white impressed me more than any record distance jump. The stuff Seth did in the hills to was nuts. Just hitting huge jumps hoping 8th gear pinned is the right speed.
