I'm picking on Poto today !

Edited Date/Time 12/21/2014 11:32pm
My opinion only...I think that RV has found a way to make a ton of money doing something that he doesn't particularly like to do. I've formed this opinion over the last few years as I see him getting little or no pleasure out of racing. I'm not saying that He never enjoyed the sport but I think that the pressure of getting him to where he is got to him. I'm sure that he is eagerly looking forward to retirement after he shows his stuff in that other series, with great success I hope.

On the other hand, here is a short list of racers that , I think, race dirt bikes for the pure joy of it: Trey Canard, John Dowd, Travis Pastrano, and Davey Millsaps. There are many others.

He seems to enjoy the actual racing and domination of other riders. Maybe he just doesn't enjoy all the other crap that comes with being the top dog.

I wish I could retire early from my job also.

We agree that he does have a healthy ego and he enjoys being Top Dawg.

Is this not what he has openly said himself for a while now in all his interviews and the same opinion practically everybody holds?

As long as Ryan is a hunter I'll still like what's he's all about. I would drop everything to go ride with or hunt with Ryan. (Hint hint Ryan).

This isn't exactly news. He has said multiple times riding and racing is a job to him and nothing more.

All that training, diet and riding on the edge after a while has to take a toll.

I know a few people that hate their full time jobs. Can't blame him if he hates racing.

Top hunters also train hard. It's not that easy to be hiking 10+ miles a day to make a kill. I know I was chasing a herd of elk hoping to get a shot and my heart rate was as high or higher than when racing. 10k ft above sea level is no joke going straight up a mountain.

I'm really getting tired of this nonsense.

Lookey here Fred, He was brought up racing and pushed and pushed hard by his parents to succeed in racing.. in fact it tore his family apart and cost him what many of us take for granted, which is a normal upbringing and social life during our teens. So, at some point he realized he didn't have any other skills and he was good at racing so why not give his all. Which he's done to the fullest and kicked everyone ass.

Is he over it, sounds like he was and now he's doing the unthinkable and leaving a number one plate on the table to race Europe. Looks like he's finally having some of that "FUN" that keyboard clowns like yourself demand he has to satisfy them.. WTF?

And yet, here you are, starting thread to "pick on Poto".. if you were here I'd take that cigar out of your mouth and shove it up your ass.

Have a nice day

Lookey here, Outsider.....You must be having a bad day.....My comment, in no way, was disrespectful to RV....You need to read it again, tough guy.

We both know that you need a catchy Title or nobody will look at the post.

You read the same sentiment on here constantly. It's getting old. Not everyone is a Travis Pastrana.. different personalities make the world go round.

I cheered as loud as anyone when I watched TP backflip that 500 at straight rhythm a while back, but watching Poto destroy Glen Helen is about as good as it gets if you are a fan of moto, imho.

And that's what it's about for me... I usually leave when the podium interviews start Wink

RV doesn't know what he likes, till he goes and lives like a normal human for a few years.

Im sure RV can make his own decisions, but when you have been a pro racer for a vast majority of your life, you really cant tell if you enjoy that relative to other things, till you have tried other things.

Would not surprise me if RV disappeared off the radar for a few years, then sees riders winning who he knows he can wax, and re-lights the candle, come back for another few championships.

Once a racer, always a racer.

No chance of that honestly. Nobody can take a few years off and expect to come back. The sport is too dangerous.

The training regimen alone would ruin any love I had for riding dirt bikes. I'd bet a million bucks that's what ruins it for every pro that grows to hate it

That's the thing with the ama season. Yea, he's made millions , but he's got nothing left to prove and there's no time off at all for these guys. No real opportunity to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
