Shop Update. We have been dealing with some horrendous weather . We set the trusses a week ago Monday and had snow,sleet and rain. In spite of that, all went well. We had to shut down during plywood sheeting due to frozen fog building up on the roof turning it into a skating rink. After the string of difficult weather we are rolling again. Roof is sheeted and tarpaper is down. We are technically dried in!!!! Thank God!
Next is interior wall framing in the apartment and roofers will be laying shingles(during the NW's storm of the Century). The wind is howling right now, tomorrow is going to be gnarly. Here are some recent pics of the progress.

Done digging the power trench ,tomorrow Pacific Power comes and inspects, hopefully I pass the inspection. I dug it
And laid it out didn't hit too much rock, the Takeuchi mini excavator worked spectacular.

I was curious if you are related to smokey and the old Hodaka shop in sweden valley? My folks used to own Potato City in the 70's and 80's. I also miss riding up there but have been blessed with some great riding in the south just no sleds....
anyway really love the thread and hope to someday use you for my realtor/builder out there.

I knew Andy Bear we used to race with him in the D6 circuit, he and his wife owned Coudersport Well Drilling that was right where 872 met Rt 6 in town. That is crazy, my Grandmother's favorite place to take us all out to eat was none other than Potato City! We were probably there at the same time at least once or twice Smile Potato City is a landmark of my childhood. I also spent a lot of summer days swimming and fishing at Lyman's lake. I just saw a show on PBS not too long ago about restaurants and they had a pretty good chunk of the show featuring Potato City. I was blown away ! My grandparents bought their little place out near the Odin Grange South of town on 872 back in the late 60's. I was born in '72 and pretty much started going to Potter County when I was a baby up until I was in my late teens. Grandma sold the place then I moved West when I was 20. The last time I was in Coudersport my wife was pregnant with my now 18 year old son. One of these summers I want to take my three boys to Potter and show them around.

If you ever head back to Potter just ping me, my dad still has some land across the street from Potato City and my brother in law rides and races and still lives up there and could show you some cool practice tracks. We had some good ones behind potato city that you could probably still ride on and had some great drag races on the old airport out back. (you would pass it on the way to Lyman lake) Really great memories from there and it really hasn't changed too much. There is actually a McDonald's in town if you can believe that. Wow small world my company just did a job in Couldersport at the sewage plant. i also hungout in Potter County as a kid at my grandparents camp. An amazing place thats for sure. Never know what you are going to come across on Vital.

Rizz, yeah that was big news a few weeks ago. Some of the 10B faithful are pissed and even boycotted the pub. It was eerily quiet in there the first two weeks after the announcement. I know the owners Chris, Jeremy and Garrett and I can tell you this, those guys have been absolutely busting their asses the last 8 years and they made it! I say good for them. Also 10b is decent but it is not even close to my favorite Central Oregon beer. There's a brand that people will begin hearing about soon. Boneyard Brewing RPM IPA, it's one of the best IPA's ever created and people are going nuts over it. The guys at Boneyard cannot keep up with demand. It is only sold in Kegs and growlers, they have no plans of bottling. I still think there is nothing better than a fresh Deschutes poured fresh out of the tap down at the Bond St pub...... Rizz, are you NW?

No, I'm in LV. For your buddies at 10B I say good for them as well, if someone showed up at my door wanting to buy me out with a big fat check, I'd be like Jerry fucking McGuire......show me the money biatch!!! I don't care if they worked 5 months or 50 years, KUDOS. I'm a lager beer Heff kinda guy, the heavier dark ones plug my sinus and give me instant headache, call me soft, whatever. I still hate your garage you a&*@@^e!

Progress as of Friday. Shingles loaded ready to install Monday and windows/vapor barrier also going in Monday.

I can't wait to get to the inside of the shop and start outfitting it.

As always with building in the winter, we had hellacious weather during framing and siding but the second the majority of the exterior work is complete, the skies part and temps warm up. Here is where we have gotten to at this point.I just passed all the rough (framing,plumbing,electrical) inspections. Insulation and sheetrock this week. I am loading the truck and the toy hauler and headed to A-3 on Wednesday for some much needed moto therapy. When I return I am going to start painting(interior) and building garage cabinets.

Seriously though, bad ass piece of property. The dirt is awesome too. I live a few miles from Washougal MX and my dirt is pure rock with a little dirt mixed in. Judging by your power ditch it looks like 2 feet of loam. Awesome.

Man! I thought all you guys had was pure red clay over near Shoug. The one large negative with my track is that I don't have irrigation for the summer. We ride when it's wet(mostly Fall thru winter into spring) then it's done! it turns into the dustbowl....

WOW Patrick!! That is beyond words man! That is seriously one of the coolest setups I've ever seen. I was at Woodland MX this past weekend and a couple buddies of mine Wardy and BigDaddyG were talking about your shop and this thread. If it's cool with you.....I'd like to make a trip down that way this spring. Maybe some moto , check out your shop, bring a tent and camp a night or two?

And since you and Rizzo were talking beers up above here.....check this one out. BigDaddyG brought me up a beer and I tested this one out at the end of the day of moto......called " Whoopty Whoop Wheat ". It's a wheat beer ( which is basically all I can drink now days ) And I gotta say , it is a really , really good beer! Can't get much more Moto than this haha!! If we can make it down that way , and if your buddies brewery isn't that far away , maybe we could check out a couple of their brews too? BVM111 ......DUDE!....this would be a perfect time to meet up , moto and drink some cold ones!
