First earned NBL number was 187. Sublime was my favorite band and April 22, 1992 was a good song. They matched perfectly.

I have it on the front window of my car, too. A student saw at it parked at school and wondered why I had 187 on my car..

As a kid my dad worked for the phone company here. The first number I can remember (actually the only number I remember) on his work van was 909. My dad died when I was 12, but he got me my first bike at 8 years old and started this love for moto. So when I got back into racing after about 18 years off, that's the number I chose, been running it for 10 years now.

For some reason, I have loved 6 more than any other digit for my entire life. I also grew up idolizing MC. In 2002 when Jeremy was on the Bud Light Yami I decided I wanted the #2 so I've been 62 ever since.

My number comes from when I played football as a kid. The Dallas Cowboys at the time had a guy named Robert Newhouse
He was a running back he was maybe 5'-6" tall but weighed in at 225 lbs plus ( wrecking ball) his number was 44
I thought it was a cool looking number so I ran 44 also.
Years later I started racing and ran 44H some other guy in the AME had 44.
The next year I scored more points than him and was awarded the number 44 and ran it all the way through the b class.
I still run the number 44 on my bikes

Cheers, Pat

I came home from school one day and my Dad was slapping a #45 on my turd bucket of a LEM. Ran that number with different variations over the years. Only time it ever changed was at Lorettas and Mammoth one year when I got to run number 3, or if I was on a bike of Kyle's and just ran his number for the weekend. I think Kyle's 44 in the amateur days came from one of the Petty's NASCAR number, and I ended up with 45 because it seemed logical to the old man. Dad was a huge NASCAR fan. And if I remember the story right, Jasons 727 as an amateur came about due to my dads fascination with the plane at the time.
I remember riding with Jason back in 95 a few weekends at the old world minis track. Along with Carey Hart. Sure was good times.

In my case I was In the market for some new graphics and one of the new decal companies ( there were only a few of these companies back then) was having a sale on sets that they had used in ad displays. They just happen to have a set that fit my bike and the number was 271. So I got a sweet deal on a new set of graphics and a new number at the same time. So that has been my number from that point on.

77. Was my first "national" number when I raced BMX. Might add a 2 in front because I always had a 2 in my number when I played football.

My Dad was always #309. That was my first number as well.
THen 209 because of 9th in 60cc points.
Then 208.
Then I took a couple years off.. When I went back, 383 wasavailable so I took that.
I liked it because of the symetry.
Then was out for 10 years.
When I came back, I went with 385 and have had it ever since.

My favorite riders in 1984 were Barnett # 2 and Rick Ryan # 56. I got tired of always adding an electrical tape X after my first number - # 9. Plus it was cool back then to be known for your 3 digit number and it was a pain running different numbers with different race organizations....

Daughters birthday. 5th November 2013

Before that it was number 12, Huffy was my guy back in the day on his RM125.

Hey, you stole my number, ha ha.

I had 11 on my bike the first time I raced in 1993, they made me put an X on my plate because someone already had it. Then when I got my CMC license they had issued me 511, so stuck with it

Number used to be 17, but then Barcia got 17 and since I was younger, I assumed people would say I was copying him, so I changed it. 612 because my birthday is the 6th of December. Havent been able to change it back because this one actually has some meaning Tongue

First time I raced, I showed up without numbers. When told I needed them, I asked if 11 was available, it was. So 6 pieces of black tape later and I was ready to race.

First 3 dig of my AMA # 215
11/14/2014 8:01am
When I raced back in the 80s and early 90s I was #50. When I started back a couple years ago and it was time to pick a number, I went with my age at that time, 51. Then I added a "y" so when asked "Why 51y?" I could respond, "Why not?" I have wanted to update to my current age but I can't seem to wear the graphics out. Props to the Stickman!

Had my #503 issued to me from MXNW back in 1990. A few years later I talked to the guys at CMC and they were kind enough to give it to me as well. About a year later I sweet talked Carolyn Huffman into calling someone back in the day and they issued it to me in AMA as well. ( had something like #768 ) in AMA before that.

When I started riding again in 1988 I had a pack of 9s and 2s from my NBL number, I'm not sure why I had them since I don't think I had raced NBL in 5 or 6 years at that point. So I was 92 for a good 10 years until I started showing up at the track and everyone was 92. So I changed it to 824, my anniversary but I still see a ton of 824s. So I'm thinking of making #1s like on the early 80s Yamaha just so people will talk shit about it. My son was born 6/24 so until he wants to change he 624.

My first Bmx race when I was 4 (I think), they gave me 485. Been running it ever since and put it on damn near everything as a kid. Shoot I still put it on pretty much all my stuff, anyone who knows me knows it's mine. I'm actually pretty superstitious about it, I hate if I have to take it off or change it for a race for some reason.Blink Grinning
I was going to be mind-blown if I wasn't the only one that didn't get our number from our BMX days. In BMX your number reflects your end of year points like MX used to do. In Intermediate I got down to 11 for one year, but the last year I raced expert I was 32nd.. So.. 32 stuck.
