Does anyone have any tricks to polishing an exhaust pipe to a near mirror finish. Especially the header. (4 stroke)

I did the cover on my 450 and 250...they look shiny. Below is before and after on the 450

I've done countless wheels, tanks, grilles, etc. on trucks over the years. If it's scratched up with nicks and scrapes, wet sand it with a medium to medium-fine grit working to a really fine grit. Every little nick will stand out like a sore thumb once it's polished. If it's in good shape, you can skip that step. After that, go to a truck stop and get a bar of green rouge and a bar of white rouge. Get two buffing wheels while you're there, a yellow one and a white one. Start with the yellow wheel and the green rouge. Once you get that done, wipe it down and then hit it with the white rouge and white wheel. Keep it moving or else you'll get burn marks and streaks, which are a real PITA to get rid of. After that, wipe it down again and make sure its a good even polish with no dull spots or burn marks. Then hit it with the White Diamond mentioned above or some Zephyr 40 and hand polish it.

Why polish it, I just scuffed my PC Works pipe on my KX250 in 10 minutes and it looks bitchin!

1. 600 grit wet/dry with WD40
2. Green scotch brite
3. Steel wool for the factory finish!
