No experience with them on WP components but I have used them on my current and last 2 motorcycles and I really like them as you can do them yourself with minimal technical knowledge. If you are willing to test and experiment a little you can get them set up and you learn quite a bit about how your suspension works and removes the mystery of your fork and shock!

your 2015 normally has 4cs forks which are new ktm forks and i'm not sure… in fact pretty sure that the there is no gold valve setup for the 4cs. Also I don't know what is your suspension modification experience but 4cs forks are not easy to work on. finally the Gold valve documentation and installation guide that comes with the kits are not exactly precise and representative of wp forks…. I have put gold valves on my previous bikes including my 14 sx-f and I would not put them in a 4cs equipped bike

Actually the 4cs is just the opposite since it is basically an old school cartridge fork. You would just have to unscrew the base valve in the bottom of the fork and install the new valve. There's no peening on the shaft either so all you need is a 10mm wrench. You'll need torx bits if you're going to get ballsy and go into the mid valve though...

To change the valving of your suspension. Ya know, flow control?

I just had them put in and got my first ride on them last Saturday. The main differences I have noticed so far compared to stock(2006 yz250) is the bottoming resistance off of big jumps, casing, or over jumping was amazing! I came up short on the finish line jump at my local track a few times and was expecting a hard hit, only to have the suspension absorb it without a hitch. Also I was able to over jump a few jumps on purpose to gain a little more speed, and it was smooth as butter. Also my bike turned and handled much better then before. I didn't get the best ride in last weekend, so I'm hoping I can give it another go this weekend and really see how well it works!

Sorry, thought that should explain it. Valving that you install yourself. I didn't take it as you looking for a review.

I contemplated doing it myself but in the end I decided to ship the suspension off to Jason Beck the owner of Becks Tech in Orange Port Florida. He installed the G2-R gold valves and rebound kit in my forks and the gold valves in my shock. Not too mention he gave me a KILLER deal. But yes I think I am finally getting my suspension working properly, and I'm sure it will only get better from here on out!

I'm happy to hear you are considering Race Tech. A few notes to answer some of the questions in the thread.

First off, going with Ronnie at SIX12 is a great choice, he is at the track a LOT and all the riders I know that have gone there have given really good feedback. He is one of our main RT outlets on the east coast and works very closely developing with us. He has some updated valving settings that are specific to the FL terrain as well.

Second, yes, we do offer GV kits for 4CS forks. We work closely with WP as a WP Authorized Center (one of only a few in the US).

Gold Valves are designed to improve flow. The Gold Valve allows the valving stack to control damping allowing a setup that is both plush initially and increasing bottoming resistance. Although the theory has been the same for years, the valves have continued to evolve to get the most out of your suspension.

As far as installing the 4CS valving, here is a step by step process breakdown on our website: http://www.racetech.com/page/title/Fk%20GV%20Install%20WP%204CS

keeptwostrokesalive, thank you for the report. It's always great to hear feedback from customers about their experiences.

Pssssttt, don't forget, Vital members get a 20% off discount. That is normally directly through Race Tech in CA, but if you mention it to Ronnie, I'm sure he'll work with you as much as he can.

When you purchase the gold valves they give you a log in to their "digital valving" section on the website. after you answer some questions it will give you the ball park compression and rebound stacks and spring rates for your riding type and style and personal preferences for suspension set up. Then just follow the simple instructions and install the stacks in your forks and shock and go ride. If it's good to go leave it, I have found that it's so easy to do I probably mess with it more than I should. I have my shock right where I want it but will probably mess with the forks again soon. I have my wife video me riding and I then compare how it feels to how It looks on the track.

If you are more comfortable having them installed I understand and it sounds like the shop you have there local is solid from what reisenberg is saying!

Either way you won't be disappointed... You will wonder how you rode with stock suspension in the past!

if you get it done by someone who knows their shit its the bomb, unfortunately lots of suspension techs just throw em in and say good to go.

im lucky enough to know the best suspension guy in my area and i swear by gold valves and race tech but i have friends who use a different guy and they hate them so be careful who you trust with your stuff

Race Tech is the only way to go IMO I have had their stuff in my bikes and have ridden different bikes with RT stuff installed and never had a complaint. Its always best to send it out to a professional for sure.

Race tech is the way to go, They got my Honda dialed in and working great, as I talked about new bikes with my local Race tech guy " EB Suspension" and the new Ktm got brought up, as it sounds they have a good set up for the new KTM fork...

hey you're in Lakeland? Call Active Ride in Spring Hill. He is one of the people who does the KYB SSS internals swap on those forks, I believe. Price that out, i'll bet it's a better set up than the racetech shim stack.

They have Gold Valves for the 4cs forks, remember that those forks maybe new to KTM but Husky had them last year.

And yes, the gold valves are a great upgrade to the 4cs forks.

About 10 years ago I installed a Gold Valve in the rear shock of my 1983 YZ490. At that time there were no specs for that shock. I bought a bunch of valve shims and guessed my way through it. The first set of shims were resulted in little compression damping and enough rebound to let the shock pack up and bottom at the end of a bumpy straight. After trying a few more tries I was happy with the sixth combination I tried. Like BVM111 stated it really isn't that tough and it really teaches you what is going on inside the shock. Also, the cartridge emulators for the forks are worth every penny if you have an older bike.

The ones I saw back in early 00's had huge holes compared to stock pistons. You couldn't just pur your shim stacks on it and it work.

Do they sully shims with it to get in the ballpark now.?

Every Gold Valve kit comes with a code to access our DVS (digital valving search) where you input your information to get a valving setting. They also include shims to build your valving stack. If for some reason the shims you need aren't included, a quick email or phone call and we'll send them out.

Each setting is also 100% guaranteed. Don't love it, let us know and we'll work with you to get a setting you do love or your money back.

Stock pistons have gradually gotten closer and closer to the Gold Valve, but the Gold Valve has also continued to evolve. The port size is only part of what makes the valve work. It's just the biggest difference and easiest to notice.

So question on the bottoming device, are most 4cs riders going with the bottoming valves as well?

Haven't played with the newest stuff but we used to port our stock valve and get it real close to the GV. If a customer could afford it we would recommend them for sure. But a stocker that's ported works good/better than stock.
