Watering the first turn just a few minutes before the gate drops. If timing hasn't allowed the first turn to be watered prior wait until after the next moto blasts off then water it.

Haha it's true it's really not. I have raced dirt bikes my whole life. I joined wresting this year and it is much more physically demanding.
I'm talking about nationals btw.. 30+2 motos in the heat of the summer. But still, even if your not racing at the top level it's still a hell of a workout. Anyway, you think a couple minutes of wrestling another sweaty dude is harder than moto? I don't know about that one... Sure, the wrestling training is decently physically demanding, but nowhere near what the top guys go through in moto. Also there's no breakes or time-outs in moto like there is in wrestling. In wrestling you have time to catch your breath, drink some water, stretch etc.. There's none of that in moto. You have to be so fit and mentally strong to be the best in motocross. The top guys are absolute machines. I don't care what you or anyone else for that matter says, motocross is the most phisically demanding sport on the face of this earth.

on the local level - people that claim to have raced with (X) "back in the day" or claimed to have been at level (X) "back in the day" but because of some (insert excuse here) are now a (insert job here) and only "ride for fun" or don't ride at all...

the use of the words "intensity" and "adversity" as every 5th word in the broadcast

The Grammer freaks, if i can understand the piont, then that will do. I am old and my only job is coaching motocross, so i have forgotten a lot of how to spell. My education was fine. I could spell a lot better and word a sentance way better at 18 than i can now.

Moto pet peeves:

Dudes that run current pro graphics at the local practice track. "hey was that Chad Reed"?

Local dudes that ride a Kawi and choose the number 7, 22, or 2 as their number

Local dudes that ride a Suzuki and choose 199 as their number

Local dudes that ride a Honda and choose 22, 29, or 14 as their number

Local guys who ride a KTM with the number 29 or 5 on it.

Anyone that has a red background number plate that isn't currently in the pro MX/SX/AX championship points lead.

When guys start their statements on the podium with, "yeah, no, for sure"

When James Stewart say's the track was "one lined-ded"

2 stroke vs 4 stroke debates

The Alessi's

When people call a MX track a course.

I travel for work so here is my list:

1. Maids leaving the drain closed in the shower/tub combo at hotel. Of course, you don't notice until you have the shower is running.
2. TSA placing someone at entrance to security to guide people to pre-check or regular line. If you don't know you have pre-check you shouldn't be in the pre-check line. All it does is fuck up the whole process.
3. Dirty windows on rental cars (inside and out). How hard is this to clean?
4. Rental car agencies only offering to refill the entire tank of fuel.
5. People who recline in coach class. Especially kids or little people. I'm 6'2 225lbs and I never recline out of respect for the person behind me. Even in first class (unless I have a lay flat).
6. People who bring smelly food on a plane. Really, tuna fish on a plane?
7. Overzealous flight attendants.
8. Flight attendants who think the passengers are their audience and try to be funny with the safety announcements or just keep on talking for no particular reason.

This is all for now... I can add much more but have to catch a flight...

I travel a lot too so agree with everything Jasonward73 said ha.

On the other hand I don't see what's wrong with people making race replica pro bikes and then actually riding them. I've never done that but those guys are just having fun riding their dirt bikes so who cares. I like checking out those bikes.

Nah I agree, it's not the most physically demanding. It's extremely demanding, but a lot of this kind of talk comes from the lack of recognition from other sports, so guys that race try to compensate for it by making it out to be the most amazing physical test on planet earth. It's definitely tough, especially at a pro level, but there's other sports out there that are more physically demanding. Just because you can "catch your breath" in some sports doesn't mean they're automatically less demanding.

I was in Dallas over the weekend for a Cowboys game. (Insert Ebola reference here)

Anyways we went to this sports bar called Bikini's which wasn't bad I must say. The plan was to hopefully watch some college football and see if they could hook us up with a small TV to the side for some MEC Supercross viewing. They totally hooked us up and did it for us. However when they put supercross on they messed up and put it on the big TV in the sports bar. Well EVERYBODY in the place freaked out!!! Some dude slammed his hand on the table and said WTF is this motorcycle shit? Put the game back on!!!

So to restore peace to the bar the bartender tried to fix it. Well she got football back on the big screen and supercross off to the side for us. But she totally jacked up the sound and couldn't fix it. The rest of the night we had sound for the races and nobody had sound for football. Everybody was bitching about it all night.

1. When motocross magazines misspell words. Come on! You're supposed to be professionals representing our sport!

I'm talking about "Breaking bumps" specifically. It seems like Transworld uses "break" and "brake" interchangeably.

2. "I could care less." Yeah, so could I, apparently.

3. "Prolly." Do you mean PRO-BA-BLY?
3(a). "Supposably." This one I can almost excuse, because I see the logic. The fact is, the word you are looking for is "Supposedly." It means something is supposed. "Supposably" would mean something is able to be supposed. It's weaker. (And, not an actual word, so...)

1. People who describe an event as "Epic", most over used slang term ever.

2. TV Announcers saying "Pit Party". Let's get this straight, there is NO party going on there, I've been there, damnit and it ain't no party!

I found this thing on the internet called a TV-B-Gone. It will turn off any TV in north america in like 14 seconds or something, after it sorts through all of the frequencies for what would be the remote control. So I decided to take it bar hopping the night of the Super Bowl. People were totally pissed. To top it all off, one bar was giving away, wait for it, A TV!!! We fucked with those people so bad. They were checking the back of it and breakers and what not. Hilarious.

Epic is by far the worst slang term in history. Hate it and hate anyone who uses it.

Don't know if it's been said or not didn't read through 6 pages but definately without a doubt my # 1 is:

2 stroke threads and people complaining they killed our sport for the last 10 years. blah blah blah we know you love your trusty old CR250 but they are not the future of motocross!! Get with the times.
