Funny, but when you are quoting someone, you would be required to use (" ")(those things) and state the name of the person whom you are quoting...otherwise, it is your statement!

Forget which race he said it at maybe it was one of the ones Musquin won. Anyways continue...
But then he doesn't know half the GP riders by name, so its not really surprising. Just about everyone who counted France out masively underestimated Frossard and Ferrandis simply because they're not familiar with them.

GL said "there is no way in hell France will win the MXoN" at the Washougal race I believe when Musquin went 1-1. I bet he feels like the biggest asshat now! What an idiot. Please give us Emig back!

Hindsight sure makes thinks clearer....

At the time Langston made that comment, 95% of MX fans (including French fans) would have agreed.

Asshat? Idiot? Or just saying what almost everyone else was thinking?

Team France stepped up and smoked everyone, they had a great day- with all the "luck" (good starts, no crashes or mechanical issues).

Congrats to them, they earned it.

But to say Langston is an idiot because France did not send other top tier riders is wrong.

Maybe if Musquin went instead of Ferrandis, he would have smoked Searle, and would have made the France win even more dominant?

Just be happy it went well for France.

Langston needs to eat his crow. The entire team rode amazing today. Congratulations Team France. 4 different winners in the last 4 years. That's pretty cool.

You're totally right, that Langston guy has no business talking about Motocross. We should get an expert like Ralph Shaheen back if Emig's not available.

Jesus, the guy made a mistake, and his prediction wasn't crazy at all, he just happened to be wrong this time. Get over it. And congratulations France.

maybe 95% of american fans- the french (and other euro/ gp) fans all know how good ferrandis and frossard are...

it was only a couple of years ago that frossard looked like he could be winning the world championship, a couple of injuries have kept him out of contention but he is still very fast and can beat anyone on his day. As I said before the event- france have a very deep talent pool to choose from- they could field 2 teams that are capable of winning the event!

i expected them to select tixier instead of ferrandis but tixier, ferrandis, febvre have all been close in speed this year

France rode great this year- paulin was absolutely flawless, frossard was very solid and ferrandis did a great job after coming from nearly last in one of the motos. Hats off to them- they deserved it

France has 12`000 mx license holders. It`s a new powerhouse and they only getting better. Some say their amateur and youth programs are better than that of USA AMA which is known to raise very good racers.

just think- if they sent their 'B' team- musquin, pourcel and tixier! or swap one of those riders for febvre or charlier- would have still been a great team that could win

it will be interesting to see who they select next year!!! definitely not going to miss the des nations in ernee- with france defending their title on home soil!!!

People act like musquin is over here setting the world on fire he's good but he's not exactly snatching up a lot of titles. It appears that all the "critics" need to sit the fuck back and shut up. What if they sent musquin and he choked and lost it for France? Ever consider that

It's very hard to argue if they sent their best team since Frossards highs and lows are miles a part. For the day, everyone rode to their potential (why they where there in the first place). It would've been so easy to pick on Team France if Frossard where to crash and Ferrandis got stuck in the field. But Both Frossard and Ferrandis have the potential to ride at the top and I'm really happy for their sake that they did. For me picking Gautier Paulin for MXGP and team captain is a no brainer. Frossard actually beat Cairoli straight up back in 2011. Was injured most part 2012 and 2013 so they took a fat chance sending him, the same fat chance USA would've taken if they where to send James Stewart. All of us know what that speed demon can do on a good day.

It's a one weekend event, win it or lose it.

i'm not going to make bold statements about who's going to destroy who, when i know that the likelihood of it ever happening are slim to none.... but I see them both about the same level.... about the same level as Pourcel, Febvre and...... Ferrandis

Bingo. All are pretty similar speed. If anyone should be annoyed it should be Tixier not Musquin as Tixier is second in the series. I don't really get the hysteria over Marvin not getting picked.. Not much to desperate them all and Musquin wasn't having a great season at the time of he announcement.

Personally I think Ferrandis is a good choice...he has a lot of speed on his day.

MM25 has really been coming on strong the last couple rounds now that he is 100% healthy. This is the best I have ever seen him look in America. Tixers KTM is known to be the best bike in MX2 where Marvins has three other teams on par with his, but back to the point Unidilla is Marvins best track and if he wins there then France should and can make the change to put a two time world champ and a guy with 4 AMA wins now on the team.
are you keeping your signature parkboys? now we have all watched the event- it was a pretty accurate statement wasn't it? just about scraped a podium finish after simpsons chain snapped..

It might have been in retrospect, but that is after a ridiculous weekend of racing and a shit load of bad luck. It was still a ridiculous statement at the time, how could anyone predict 5 bad starts, 2 crashes, a stall and a broken foot for one team that still makes the podium?

In his last two MXdN appearances Musquin went 8 - 11 on home soil in France and then 19 - 11 in Belgium. Pourcel went 11 - DNF in 2011.

Tixier went 12 - 12 last year in Germany and Ferrandis just went 9 - 9 in Latvia.

I think Marvin's ride in 11 was an issue. Lommel he was ok in the Nationals before hand but is he a noted sand rider?

or simpsons engine only just allowing him to limp home in moto 1 (pouring smoke out for 4 laps and losing power), or simpsons broken chain in the last moto, or ferrandis being LAST out of the gate in one of the motos, or reed crashing on the start, or tonkov riding against doctors orders, van hoerbeek re injuring his ankle and bending his gear lever, or cairoli crashing and wrecking his knee........

this is racing- these things happen

Yeah no shit, but that doesn't change that it was a ridiculous statement at the time and that it took 9-10 events to one team, as opposed to one or maybe two for the others, to let them scrape the podium as you say...

He had every right to quote it at the time as being off.

It maybe took USA's worst luck since they started winning for you to even feel justified asking him about it.
