I hope the new KX would be a KX150. I can't believe Kawasaki would waste their time offering an option to the 150SX and hit the sales floor with a bike that's way underpowered. I know Yamaha does it, but they are still milking the 2006 model for all it's worth.

Nobody out there advocating the 150SX has complained about the 250F reaching 20 FT/LB of torque or the possibility of 40HP. The rub with a 250F has been weight, valve maintenance and the sound and smell. If they do a long stroke 150 motor that has an option for a 175 CC big bore kit and Kawasaki is king again.

After reading the mag it must be a 125 mxer 2 stroke. first they are talking about mx 2 bikes then O´connor talks about the yz and sx 250 then he says kawi is building a 125 for next year. the sad part? which countries will get that bike. in my mind europe will, usa might, canada won,t mexico no chance in hell, dont know about australia or nz.

canada , australia and NZ all have 2 strokes in the nationals , it would seam stupid not to send it to counties that support 2 stroke racing

I hope its true. I would put it on my wish list for when I can afford another bike. Ive been wanting a 125 so bad past 2 years. I ride a 450 but 125's are just so fun. And hey why not? Kawasaki did just revamp the 85 and 100...

Anyone who thinks a 2006 YZ and a 2014 YZ are the same hasn't actually tried swapping parts between the two bikes at 1am the night before a rrace lmfao....

They got new triple clamps, bars, plastic, cylinder and like 2hp. That's huge in a bike that makes 23ish hp. What more can you ask for out of a bike that's 3400 brand new.

Exactly. No offense twosmoke but maybe you should research something before you chime in next time. I mean even if it was only plastics, at least they are doing something with two strokes. Which all leads me to believe that there is some kind of truth to this new 125 rumor.

I'm going to buy a 15 YZ250, just for shits and grins. Right now I've got 06 and 12 YZ125s, an 11 YZ250, and a 14 YZ250F. Frankly, my 14 250F is the best bike I've ever slung a leg over. It's still got low hours, so I'm gonna go for the 250 smoker in 15. I've bandied the idea of the KTM about for a couple years now, but I just can't make myself pull the trigger on one. Nothing against KTM, it's just something I personally can't get myself around, even though I know I'm hardly breaking new ground with my choice.

I had an 03 KX125 that I liked quite a lot. I'd definitely look into it if Kawasaki were to come out with one.

There's no truth to the rumor!! There is no new 2-strokes to be sold in the US coming from any Japanese OEM (other than Yamaha) ever!!

Yep, you can pretty much put the 2 stroke come back to rest and this is why. After 4 strokes came on the scene they did not have as much power as today. The big 5 soon found out how to get more power and riders got comfortable on the new 4 strokes. Yet the AMA never lowered the cc size for the 4 strokes. Everyone wanted the new bike because it was different and well its new plus the pros rode em. With some series allowing 250 vs 250 soon found out a 250 2S can be big advantage on certain tracks. It is very hard to balance the two different motors and I doubt they will try to find a new engine size such as 200 or whatever the magic number is. The OEM's are not going to waste time and money making a new 2 stroke engine size if there is not a foreseeable gain. They also have so much R&D and time in 4 strokes it too late to go back now. Unless there is some company who has ground breaking 2 stroke tech that makes them vastly faster/better under the current cc rules it wont happen. Even if they bring out a 2 stroke I could only see a 125 to help bridge the gap between 85 and 250f. Most kids nowadays just hop on the 250f so I'm not sure how many they would sell. Not to mention how many people would buy a brand new bike to hop on a 250f in a few years.

I'm still glad KTM and Yamaha offer new 2 strokes I really hope the other OEM's follow but I dont get my hopes up.

I'd take that KX125 with the AF that steel frame looks terrible tho Tongue

Whoa, I always believed that this was just another rumour but it really did sound like it was a done deal according to that guy. How cool would that be if Kawasaki re-launched the 125 again, fingers crossed!

I seriously doubt that. Why build a 125cc four stroke mini to compete with Honda's 150cc four stroke mini. It just makes no sense. Cool rendering though!

I thought the CRF150 was essentially a failure? I.e. was disbanded from competing with the 85cc class????? Supermini yes but didnt Honda assume they would get the other 3 or 4 to play ball and make a 150 to compete and it backfired in their faces...couldnt rewrite the rulebook this time eh???

Kinda weird how a Canadian would know about it and it would be mentioned in a Canadian magazine even though it wont see Canada... Maybe after a few years we ca get one in the future and theyll fade into North America like they faded out? I'd definitely try to get one.

I hope they do. IMO, ever manufacturer should make a 125cc 2 stroke MX bike. It would be awesome for the sport. An incredible range of riders would benefit from it. Everything from kids coming off minibikes to old farts like me that just want inexpensive fun.
