I snapped the pic of Will Hahn in practice at the St Louis SX. Decided to put it up after Will got hurt during qualifying in a nasty get off ending his season in both SX and Nats.

He was the cousin of my neighbor when I was a kid, and took a liking to me...letting me ride in his van with him to many races, including several Trans-Am's where I got to meet all my factory rider heroes. My folks couldn't began to buy me a bike and finance my racing, so Wyman talked Kawasaki into giving him a 125...which he gave to me, and then later talked a friend of his who owned a Houston shop (Cycle Shack) into sponsoring. Without Wyman's help I would never have been able to race. He passed away at his home in the late 70's from what I heard. I owe him a lot, and he was one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

My avatar is of Wyman, on his #68 factory support Kawasaki 450. I think that was in '74 or so at Mosier Valley MX in Texas.

It was from a photo of my last professional race in Belgium in 1981. The track was in Lens, Belgium and a couple laps from the end, I took one hand off the handlebars to say goodbye to the fans after racing there for 5 months. The next lap around fans where lining the track like I had just did a backflip, so the next lap I did this no-hander and a local photographer took the photo.
At that time, none of the fans in Europe had seen anything like that. It was a pretty cool memory.
