I remember being at the Coleseum (sp) in LA back in about 1991-give or take- and was throwing some huge whips over a triple during the main!!! We used to all love that dude.

Went riding the Sunday after the 1984 Atlanta Supercross. The track was on a construction site that had a huge Plateau built up for a warehouse. We noticed some guy on a honda that started jumping the hill. Before long he was jumping higer than his transport rig parked next to it. Turned out to be Cooper who had a huge crash the night before. We could not beleive he was able to even ride after that crash.

Lol. Coop is a great guy, met him through vintage racing and am proud to call him my friend now. So cool that he sold me a couple of his bikes. His 84 CR250 that he almost never rode because he hated it and his 1991 Factory RM250 (SX bike). I will start a thread on the RM as I start cleaning her up in the next couple weeks, just need to finish up one of my other bikes first. Not nearly as trick as Newmann's RC500 or SR500 thanks to the production rule but it still has lots of trick shit on it and is the real deal, not a replica.

He raced Unadilla mx rewind and Diamond Dons this year and was at many of the super crosses working with a team which the name I can't recall right now.

Spoke with him at Gainesville 95. Super nice guy, had time for everyone, zero superstar attitude. Sure had fun on a bike, and it showed.

I met him last year at the VetsMXdN at Farleigh Castle, England. He rode my friends 1989 RM 250. He was a very nice and interesting guy. He told us some stories about Supercross and US Nationals back in the day that I couldn't possibly repeat here!

His rental car stories are the best. He may have actually got the nickname "Airtime" from rental car antics lol

I used to ride Blackjack enduros with/against his brother Chuck. Both are fast and good people.

When I think of Guy, I think of someone who genuinely likes to ride a dirt bike and have fun.

I see Coop almost every day. I would never tell him this but man he was my hero growing up.

Funny Coop story. When the old Stillwater 500 would get worked over it would always be a big secret. We wanted it to be good for a while and didn't want hundreds of people showing up and blowing it out in 1 day. Coop called me one day and said hey we just finished working the track if you want to come ride. I drive out and spin a few laps on my yz125, I was jumping all the jumps and felt pretty good. I come off the track and he says "What's wrong?" I said what do you mean?????

"Why were you going so slow"

He was dead serious, and I was devastated lol.
