Really digging' on the new Fox helmets with MIPS.... Always had a Shoei and have LOVED them.

Shoei has the Emergency Quick Release System, which basically allows the cheek pads to come out easily should the helmet need to come off by emergency services.

Fox has the MIPS....

Its time for a new helmet... any feedback would be appreciated.

Oh and while we are at it... Love my Alpinestars Tech 10's... but the Fox boot seems to be calling my name too. Thanks for the feedback in advance.

I am wondering the same thing as I am always keen to wear the best helmet. Used to run Fox helmets back in the day, but after having a few concussions (which I thought was related to helmet brand) I switched to Shoei. Turns out it was not the brand of helmet Smile

Would recommend Gaerne SG12's.

The Fox stuff do look awesome, most important is how they fit you? If the helmet and boots fits and you are comfy wearing them, go for it. I wear Shoei, it fits my head.

Both brands are known for quality products.

in my expierence, shoei and fox both fit me excellent, im currently running shoei and I love it, my only gripe is the helmet liner is a bitch to get in the fox's helmet liner is a piece of cake to take out/ put back in

I'm looking at the Fox lids too and I've been a Shoei guy for 15+ years. I think it's time to replace my VFX-W after a couple of hard hits, but I normally buy helmets when they're on sale in the sub-$300 range. No Shoei's heavily discounted at the moment, but BTO has some great deals on some really nice looking V4's. Just don't know if they are as good of a helmet as the $550 MSRP suggests?

You might want to check out some ONE helmets. They've had MIPS for alittle over a year I think, and the price point is only 400 if I'm not mistaken

This might just be me, but Shoei helmets fit my head really well and Fox helmets, including the new V4 with Mips, aren't even close.

Love the look of the Fox helmets but they just do not feel good when in my head. They need a more universal fit.

Just bought a new Shoei. Been running fly helmets the past few years and they fit awesome . Was just looking to change it up this year.

Fox just needs to get the fit down and I'd be all in.

if i'm not mistaken, the new v3 that will be released with the mips (same one dungey's been running all summer) will be available with 2 sizes within each shell size. So you should be able to get a fit thats on point. I have last years v3 and i love it and definitely will be purchasing the new v3.

Having owned a bunch of fox V3 helmets and V4 helmets I will say I love them. I have never had a concussion and had some nasty get offs in them.

I'm a shoei guy also. I've tried to like fox, but they just don't fit me very well.

Shoei needs to drop some new paint!

Arai, 6D, bell, shoei. Those are the best, the one that fits best for you. After that, its whatever fits best. Oh, you like alpinestar boots? You must not have tried any other then, They suck! Try sidi, gaerne, or even Jett.

They have some new stuff coming, some of it looks good if you like bright designs.

Anyone have a hookup for good deals on Shoei's that they're willing to help a fellow vitard out with?

Awesome! Where did you find those at? Any other color ways coming? When do they release usually?

The Fox Instincts are good, but the SG12's are great.

I strongly suggest you look at the Klim F4 helmet. I've had them all and in my opinion it's the best. Lightweight with cooling no other brand comes close to:
