So getting fed up of this crap , I think it s a lot of the reason great riders like eg .Craig ,T Hann etc, don't have rides , cause there is so called fan s out the especially on this forum ,who only look at there last result , it was only 2 races ago ,were dungey finished 3 rd first moto in spring creek , and it was all over the forum , that he would never win another championship, then today people are giving out about trey not beening on the MXON team ahead of tomac , but yet if you had of said that after the first moto ,people would be going mad ,cause tomac has nearly bet trey evey other time this yr , I think this attitude really hurts our sport , take even industry people like Matthes, he even falls into the trap of ur only as good as ur last race , when JT said CP377 could win at Unadilla , he went no way, cause he finished 14 2 nd moto last race , but I put money if someone said he win Unadilla after getting 2nd first moto , he would of said yea I can see that , just feel bad for the riders when fan s treat them , U ARE AS GOOD AS UR LAST MOTO , never mind overall , if us fans did nt do this maybe the industry would nt as much , and really talented riders would nt be forced to retire , cause teams would give them second chances , ps, love all the stuff u do Matthes ,was the only example , I could think of , but I know there are loads more from other industry people ,

Welcome to an individual sport. Other sports that have the same effect, Boxing, MMA, collegiate, world and Olympic wrestling, mountain biking, Road biking...

See something in common, they are sports where at the end of it all there can only be one winner and one champion.

Run on sentences aside, it is the life of the sport, and one that has to be dealt with.

There IS a SOLUTION though. Start your OWN Team. Go hire those guys whom are not getting rides by the big dogs, go show them what they are missing!!!!

The sport is definitely cut throat and it sucks but it's also more exciting that way. I feel like because there are so few good teams a fan can watch the race and really having a rooting interest in all 40 guys. Look it a guy like Jake Weimer. He's obviously clearly out of contention for a title and has been most of the year but the fact that he is racing for a ride makes me eagerly look at the ticker at the start of the race like "oh shit where's Jake I don't see him he's gotta ride well today". If Jake was signed for 3 or 4 years yeah as a fan of the guy I would still be rooting for him but because the sport is so cut throat it's amplified so much more. It becomes Jake HAS to ride and well and I'd LIKE to see him ride well and that does make it more exciting.Don't take this the wrong way. I'm not saying as a whole my stance is oh well there's not a lot of good rides so that's great for the sport just saying because it's like that it does make every ride for every rider that much more important which does keep the fans more involved.

I agree with OP on most of his points. If I'm a fan of a rider I back that rider no matter if he gets 2nd, 3rd or 23rd. Not a one of them is consistently faster than any of the rest and I'm not convinced RV would be dominating if he was in the mix either. I've been a fan of Dungey since his amateur days and even if I'm frustrated sometimes, I'm still a fan and realize that not every rider can win every week. RD knows what he is doing in the long run and it's worked for years. Once a fan always a fan.
