There is absolutely zero ways to monitor the top 5 riders from the time they come off after last practice to the time they start the second Moto. Especially with private RVs.

Here is how you deter future cheaters DC, make an example of someone who gets caught.

My take? It's sort of an unenforceable rule.

Years ago, I did a ride along with the East L.A. Sheriffs mountain bike patrol. In one section of the projects there, they said, "This area is known for heroin use." We came around a corner and they stopped three people. Two of them had track marks. They used one guy as a demo "dummy," showing how they'd shoot in their arms and the damage the drugs would do to the veins there. Then he was pulling the guy's collar aside, and talked about how they'd shoot in their neck...or between their toes.

Dude... I/V's for heroin aren't anything like I/V's for dehydration. You can shoot dope in your fingers and toes. Doesn't work for dehydration. Veins aren't large enough to get fluids in quickly enough.
They're in good enough shape that I'm sure they have good veins everywhere. You can run fluids wide open and get a liter in there in ten minutes. Five if you have a rapid infuser.

Now you're putting words in her mouth. From what I've been told, she only mentioned that she gives James IVs. She didn't specify when they were given.

Ok, I'm going to be the dick. I wonder if this has any correlation with the Mookie/Dehydration incident. Maybe Mookie is taking the adderal too? Does anyone know if he was granted a TUE? Or has he ever even been tested?

that will be a good image for moto . pits full of riders with needles in their arms .

Replace IVs in your argument with PEDs, and you see the problem.

From what I've been told, in Mookie's case, it was a different medication not at all related to Adderall.

Dumb argument. Making it legal doesn't make it accessible to everyone.

And that's not to mention that making it legal will be an incentive for some to push their bodies to the point where they knowingly rely on IV rehydration. Problem then is that someone won't know where the limit is until they go over it.

You can say the exact same thing about PED's since its only unfair if some have access to it, right? Anyone can get PED's. Hell, I could head down to the local gym and buy PED's right now. They implement these rules for reasons. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. Another reason you say? Well I can't imagine the AMA wants all these guys to be jabbing themselves with needles. Half of them don't even have a high school diploma, let alone the qualifications to strategically put needles into themselves. Not everyone at the track can afford to hire their own personal nurse and take him/her to the races with them to do this procedure. Theres the unfair advantage.

What fucking credentials does the nurse need? All she needs to do is stay in the RV and give the IVs! Yep, I'm sure her exact words were"between motos"! She probably doesn't even know what the word moto means! Gimme a fuckin break!

There is a big difference between an IV hydration pack which is legal (outside of AMA rules) and has no negative impact on a persons health and PED's which are illegal and can have negative side effects.

Wow. That nurse is fired fired fired Tongue

GuyB said it's an unenforceable rule and he's right, it's a very common thing for the top guys these days.

He has now been caught twice cheating (if that nurse really said that then yes he got caught), in sx and mx.

I don't see him ever racing again.

Don't think so. According to Doug what was said is......

"someone asked what exactly she does for the Stewarts. He answer was "I give James fluid IVs between motos and EVERY race."

According to Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing PR, you'll see him in a couple weeks in Unadilla.

What you're saying is true but, Mxsports doesn't want all the privateers under their tents and all the 250 riders in there team haulers all hooked up to Ivs... Looks bad for the sport

I don't understand why he even hired a nurse. Out of the 7 people in his entourage no one can do it? A lot of riders wives manage to do it for them, not rocket science.

My version, from an extremely reliable source, didn't specify when they were given. There was also no penalty assessed. To me, that suggests that they lacked evidence to impose one.

If she'd said between motos, I'd guess there would have been a penalty.

Wouldn't that be a HIPPA violation and wouldn't a nurse know that? And wouldn't the Stewart's have her sign a confidentiality agreement and explain what she can say (if anything) and what she can't?

Just like everyone else, I can't divulge my resource, but I can tell you this same resource told me about RV missing outdoors, knee surgery and his retirement well before I read it as rumor on Vital....so he has credibility. All though now, RV is actually considering the GPs in Europe. So, there's a lot more he's said, that i haven't read on Vital, but I'll wait to see if that plays out.

Anyway, also don't know if this is a re-post and i'm 99.99% sure DC is aware of it, but he has a business to run so this post may be deleted before it gets traction. Also, Steve Matthes is aware.

Apparently the Stewart family has a "private" / secret nurse at each race. She lost or forgot her credential at Washougal and when she requested a temporary credential, someone asked what exactly she does for the Stewarts. He answer was "I give James fluid IVs between motos at EVERY race."

Shit storm ensues...

Guess we'll see how it all plays out.

Apparently as an amphetamine, one side affect of Adderall is dehydration.

Also, from what I understand, it's unclear whether this was supposed to be for between motos, or post-race recovery.
Few times I took adderall I got super dehydrated. That was my least favorite part about it.

So now we have conflicting accounts of what was said. Imagine that!

As far as "there would have been a penalty".... LOL... That's one of the problems with this sport. The penalties seem to only apply to certain riders.

THAT"S why I am all over the BS that has been happening. It sucks it's JS because he is somewhat polarizing but nonetheless you get caught breaking rules then you should be fucking punished.

Adderall is legal outside of AMA rules as well...

I agree, I just remember not feeling well being so dehydrated. I actually took some at Seattle SX 2013 and it sorta ruined part of the day for me. My body is pretty worthless when I don't have enough fluids in me.
