I was hoping the MXDN being over would mean less fanatic nationalism from all sides, at least until next year.

I wasn't talking about nationalism from any specific country. I'm just as sick of hearing about how the US is the best country in the world as I am of everything else.

I'm aware that Europe's not a single nation however I really couldn't think of a better word for the situation. Is "being overly proud of where you live, to the point of delusion" more clear?

Not to piss on your parade Mccread because I personally believe that GPs have huge depth in MX1 right now, but the fact is a European pick would have been Rattray, Philipparts and Ramon. They all had a bad day at the office, USA would have won comfortably.

It seems even more embarassing to the Euros that they needed 30 guys on the line against our 3 to be able to come up with a better score.

Hehehe...the funny thing is we got 2 overalls and also 2 moto wins, the Euros could not match that even with 30riders. Smile

anytime you line up a 3 man team that contains two of the fastest riders ever, any oposing 3 man team isnt gonna have much room for maneuvre.

If either the FIM or AMA would have a huge purse, all the best riders would race together. When there isn't squat for a purse most will never race each other.

If they had scheduled the US GP better,we could of held an event to settle the whole FIM Vs AMA argument. Both series would be finished and all of the riders would be in the same country at the same time. The top 20 finishers in both series in both classes. No prize money, just real world rankings. This way if you win your class you are the no 1 ranked rider in the world. Each year the race changes back and forth between a US and FIM track.Simular to the Ryder cup, which i know has been brought up a lot on the UK forums lately, but without all the headaches of who would ride for who etc.But as it is the US GP runs 1 week before the DES nations in Italy.

the GP schedule hasn't been finalised.... it will be released in a couple of weeks. Brazil has now been added to the races, and i think the MXdN is now being held on the 3/4th October.

So lets get it done then.If we keep the race close to California you will get the turn out from the US teams.

Hell, I missed the whole of the nations, the whole damn lot Sad The other half goes and books us a weeks stay in Dubai and I wasn't even allowed to check the reseults via tin'terweb without risking a major fall out, so I'm only catching up on the in's and out's of what went down now! I knew the overalls (txt updates are a beautiful thing), but nothing more..

Eddy - Do you really think all Euro's think like mcread?? I love the way you turn this into a Euro vs America debate, if you have a problem with what mcread is saying then take it up with mcread, and leave the rest of us out of it.

And just for the record, from what I've seen team USA thoroughly deserved the win, doesn't matter who you support, that's a solid fact.

Looks like our lads missed the podium by a whisker, I heard Mackenzie went down and re-mounted in the last moto which cost us any chance of being on the box, which I'm gutted about, but fair play to 'em, the boys rode well, Searle especially.

Oh, and what happened to Reed??

Quite a few guys on here were saying he was going to give JS a run for his money before he didn't show up, yet I haven't found any comments on his performance at the Nations (I could've missed the thread though)..

Dude, dont take it so serious.
I've argued enough with the Euro bees nest over the years on these boards to know how they think. Smile
It's all in silly fun ,from both sides -nothing personal.

LOL - Nice quote by the way... hehehee !

Sorry for not giving a parting gift for being right. Coupe De L'Avenir is still run; like a Junior MXdN such as the ISDE does with the Junior AA(?) class. Age groups under 18.

I would love to send Kevin Walker, Doug Dubach and maybe Barry Carsten as USA VET Team and see how they would do.

My Vet Team would be...
Mike LaRocco
Jeff Ward (who is mad fast in super-moto). Wink
Larry Ward

On a side note, Chuck Sun has been racing up a storm over there.

The real question is.....

Will the US be able to afford to send a team next year?

With Tommy Searles 3-9 scores in MX2
Seb Pourcels 2-1 scores in MX1
Steve Ramons 2 score in MX3

Europe ended on 17 points to the USAs 25

Nations wise the US won but to say the USA came over and beat the Europeans so are better than all the riders ( which everyone seems to think these results state.. is just well.... wrong just like france getting 2nd doesn't mean their riders are better than all the individual riders in the teams below them)

They weren't racing Europe they were racing nations and the US is the best and largest mx nation in the world thats why they win !

If it was actually Europe v the US like the US guys seem to keep saying then Europe would have won easily. 17 to 25

Pretty good victory by the Euros ... just sayin.... Smile

absolutely right america werent racing europe they were racing nations. alot of people seem to think MXoN is just AMA vs GP but it is about all individual nations competing against each other. all these people saying AMA riders are better than GP riders boast about riders that dont even hail from their countries!
