I don't think there's no reason to watch, I just think Red Bull is being smart about their course designs (unlike X-Games the past couple years). Don't get me wrong, FMX puts me to sleep, but I'll at least humor myself for a few minutes if the course is cool and offers something in addition to the riding and competition. The X-Games course from a few years back was pretty sick, when Travis did the double-flip in competition.

So many TP199/SanFran Bay opportunities...

Really cool course, much needed because FMX has been pretty stale IMO.

I agree that on TV FMX can seem a bit mediocre but I think X-Fighters is completely taking it in the right direction. I've been to one of the X-Fighters and it's not just FMX, it's got culture. The food isn't just deep fried turds it's all the different meals from the places X-Fighters go to. Definitely try and hit up one of these events dude, it's not at all boring when you're there.

Good to know! I agree, they're showcasing it the right way. The trick progression has definitely hit a new limit, and a lot of the stuff seems "old", so it only make sense to switch things up by altering the track/presentation. Most FMX shows have probably been the same for over a decade now.
