DG is decades removed from making stuff that works-- or even fits properly. Yeah, they are making stuff for our old bikes. They know that they are the only source in many cases so they don't give a damn. Their stuff is complete junk, I've had a miserable time with them on two different projects in the last few years. Never again.

Try JEMCO exhaust (Jon Easton Manufacturing COmpany), here in Houston. Cone section, hand-made goodness and the same prices as DG. Oh, and it fits and actually adds performance, besides looking cool.

was there ever an oversized tank made for the 81 elsinore? ive been looking everywhere and im about to try and fit a 90's tank on,lol.

The 81 CR125R was a groundbreaking bike! It did have the worst powerband EVER from the factory. I too read that article, and sent it off to be flow ported and did the reeds. Back then it took an eternity for the UPS man to deliver stuff! Seems like I waited afterschool for the brown truck for a month straight!

It was a totally different bike after the work. It would run with the RM125 which was the king at the time. I raced it for 2 years and then when the 83 came out, I got the 83 and it was a much better bike right of the showroom floor. I quickly sold that 81 and never gave it a second thought. That 83 was my favorite bike ever. If I could find an 83 now I would def get it.

I have a full ported DG cylinder with freshly bored (Bore Tech) 2 second over new piston. I sold the my 81 so it's for sale. I also have a freshly bored 2 second over stock cylinder for sale.

Honda shows a switch in cylinders and intake midway through production.

First step at a minimum is install some fiber reeds. I just restored one and installed a mossbarger reed cage and spacer. I think it's from a 87 model. I'm not sure if a moto tassinari will work without a spacer or not.

I also used the later model intake and sent the cylinder/head to eric gore. Haven't ran it yet.

They are heavy but beautiful.
