Its all pretty easy to understand. AMA Pro Racing and AMA are 2 different entities and its been that way for a long time actually. And its been stated in a bunch of threads that they are not the same but I keep seeing people posting otherwise about FIM causing him not to race this week...bullshit. Stew will be on the line at muddy creek.
Serious question. Are you implying a person does not have to be an AMA member to line up for the outdoor nationals?

License comes from AMA Pro Racing, so no you shouldn't have to

You sure?

Per the rulebook.

1. All riders participating in any on-track activities (e.g., practice, qualifying, racing, etc.) must have a valid AMA Pro Racing and/or FIM World Championship Motocross License of the appropriate classification and be officially entered in the event. An AMA Pro Racing Motocross License includes an AMA membership.

If they don't want to use ONE testing agency, the test results from the two difference series should not effect each other.

Like it was stated in Racerhead, it takes two months to get results, if you dont want these issues than get the process done a hell of a lot quicker.

Don't you still have to be a card carrying AMA member? Don't know, just asking.

If MXSports/AMA Pro Racing isn't tied to the AMA, why would they need to know the rider's current AMA number and expiration date?

It's funny how a few people act like they know for a fact Stewart will or will not be racing at muddy creek. It appears that DC doesn't even know the answer to that question yet, but somehow these people do. That's pretty amazing, they should feel privileged.

Well that was a complete waste of time. They didn't say anything that wasn't already said here in vital. Just a bunch of opinions and speculation.

If you want my opinion, which is all that anyone can offer at this point, I think he will be on the line at Muddy Creek. Have you seen anyone anywhere say that he will or won't be? No, because no one truly knows that answer yet. There are lots and lots of things going on behind the scenes that will dictate that.

Thanks JT$, You and Weege brought up a good point that I actually posted in another thread and that's the language used in the FIM or WADA press release which is why I think there won't be a huge penalty.

"No prohibited substances or their metabolites, or markers, or the use of prohibited methods were found in the tested samples apart from James Stewart’s sample, which tested positive for amphetamine."

This language is kinda confusing! At first they say, no substances were found and then it's almost like they forgot and said "oh yea, except for the little bit of amphetamine in James' sample" They kinda make it sound like it was no big deal by the way it was written.

Yeah I know no one can say what James got to do at this point JT. It's just when Mathis said at the beginning of the podcast that he had some new information I got kind of excited. Then after listening to it it was a bit of a buzz kill :-(

Was hoping for a bit of that behind the scenes information you just referred to ;-)

Wasn't trying to be a Debbie downer dude.

We will know when Yoshimura Suzuki puts out a press release on the subject and the big fours outsourced Public Relations Deptartments, otherwise known as the moto web sites, dutifully repeat it.

Maybe he showed his prescription, got the TUE, and got a warning or paid a fine.

What's the betting that's exactly how this will play out and this will all be forgotten about in a week or twos time! A few days worth of raucous threads and arguments, and all for nothing.

But what is the FIM's jurisdiction?

I think most people thought this al along, and just giggle at some of the threads.

Even if the FIM doesn't have jurisdiction over the outdoors, it could compel James to withdraw from the series by ratcheting up the penalty in the SX series.

Post a reply to: When will we know if James is racing this weekend? GuyB, Matthes, JT$, anybody?
