DeCoster is on record stating that the 250 2 strokes and 4 strokes should race together. Not that that makes any difference, but when EF Hutton speaks....Laughing

I would imagine he switched because he's on the slowest 450 by far (about 7-8 HP down I believe) with some serious chassis flaws, and the KTM is one of the fastest with a very solid chassis package. The KTM is one of, if not the best overall 450 right now IMO
I've seen Jimmy practicing at several SX's this past year, and believe me, his Honda is not down on power. In fact, it's was one of the fastest I've seen lately. I think the switch was based purely on the level of support that Surdyke and KTM were able to give him. Greg & Steve at Surdyke Yamaha in Marionville, MO are great guys who believe in supporting riders who they believe in. Jimmy's a great guy, knows how to market himself...and will make the Surdyke name more visible on the National SX/MX scene.

Good on Greg and Jimmy. They're probably a good fit.

It's not bad luck if it's self-inflicted.

Man, things are changing Mr. Newman. Not one,,,,,"He'll never win another race." to be seen. I think the Guvna has thrown down the gauntlet and put all us foul knaves in our places. He's done put the brakes on Kongols. Gibby's patience is running low these days,,,,,, https://youtu.be/Z3BgRbnzxb4?feature=player_detailpage

if he can make it to all the rounds , and have better support ,fair play , top jimmy , end of the day , everyone think s it like everyone chooses the bike they like the best when they are privteers , every bike out there is good nowadays , and if a rider is offered a ride on a Honda , but love s a KTM , but has nt got any support , he d pick Honda , and rightly so , the more support and money you can get the better , Smile , I think with the GPs , 60% are KTMs because of the support they give a lot of times , does nt really mean there the hands down best bike , just look at Honda 250f s, in gps , there are hardly any , does that make it a bad bike , hell no , same bike in SX this yr , had like 15 crf250 in a main this yr , just cause a bike win s does nt aways make it the hands down production bike , husky where winning world champs on 125cc , with choidi ,and that was a terrible production bike , RV ,AC222 , RD , would win races on any brand , and imo RD was a tad better on the Suzuki , that does nt make KTM a bad bike at all ,

Wonder what went down with motosport???

I think his sponsors are all the same, he's just looking for more support.

The MotoSport Crossland team will be back for SX next season. The semi was always just a Supercross-only deal.

Motosport KTM?

This is the bike I have planned for my dream team, Jimmy Decotis, A.J. Catanzaro (pro) and Derek Howerton (Loretta Lynns/video style rider). But it's 180 decals so change a few logos and could be close to what Jimmy's bike could look like.

meh- if your equipment becomes overmatched then it's hard to get all butt hurt over it.

you wouldn't know that an rmz 250 was even in production watching the races on Saturday.
