My history of affording MX is stretched, I will number it in the order it happened.

1) 5 years old - Dad paid for it after giving me a Honda Elsinore 50 (hello LACR)
2) 8 years old - Dad still paying for MX, but also my second YZ80
3)11 years old - Yep, Dad paid for it, and my CR125
4) 15 years old - Say financial system but with a new CR125 and new-to-me (aka used) CR250.
5) 19 years old - Joined the Army - retired from MX?
6) 26 years old - leave the Army go to school full time while working full time - still retired from MX
7) 33 years old - still retired from MX - however now sponsoring 5 year old son in riding and first MX race
8) 39 years old - self sponsoring my great return from retirement with a race on my 39th birthday -- Crash hard, break collarbone- some ribs and concussion - retire from MX again ( but continue to ride for fun)

Whats the point of all of this...well notice there is no pyramid scheme list at all.

That's pretty awesome, and probably pretty damn accurate for a ton of guys. Just a little change up of brands, jobs and this might be able to be damn well universal, haha

"How to- Afford racing Motocross"

Get a trade then get a Job. That's how I afford to have 4 bikes and race. It's also how I bought my 55 acres of land and house and raised 3 kids and they went to college and all that stuff. I guess the entitlement generation is upon us in full force.
No one ever gave me nothing, I worked for it, and I have never received unemployment and I've had plenty of different jobs but they were all within my trade as a Machinist. Working is pride for me.
Almost every city in the world needs a machinist so pick a trade that is in high demand, get good at it, and you will make money.
Simple really.

I'm currently around the middle area of this, but plan to get back at it before I'm 39... and with out the crashing... and the child.

The responses to this post have made me laugh harder than any other thread I have seen on this forum. Hilarious.

Just what the motocross community needs...people walking around mx tracks promoting advocare. No thanks.

Get a good education and work hard and you can go to the track at night and on weekends just fine to practice and race.

If you're not almost pro by the time you're headed to college then it most likely wasn't meant to be anyway and you can just race for fun and live vicariously through your children by putting all your hard earned cash into their motocross careers.

x2, but dont tell the pro rider who have their hands out and do not want to work. Not all pro riders are like that, but check fb, riders want donations to fullfil their dreams, lol

ANOTHER ignorant wise-guy. It's not advocare bud, its probably a company you have never heard of. Educate yourself before you act like you know anything

Well shit, I've only been slinging it on the weekends. I guess I'm leaving a lot of profit on the table. I'm a complete idiot.

Get a trade and get good at it? Hey bud this is 2014 not 1950. Money can be made all kinds of ways online and from home. And it takes HARD WORK. If it is so easy, then why don't you do it?

Lol Isn't it, though? Be careful Grizz, no one likes a Grammar Nazi. Or possibly, it's just the choice of targets that is the issue. Is this Alex guy a new account created by the OP, just to be a dick? Hmmmmmmm

That's awesome, keep in mind I did continue to Ride (save the years in the Military, too many deployments). At 39 my brain told me I was just as good as 19 year old me, while my body said F*ck you :D

Just get plenty of practice in.

Are you referring to Herbalife, or Visalis?

How to afford motorcycle racing: sell dirt bike and devote funds to mountain biking.

After I pay off my student loans this year, I'll probably buy another dirt scoot. A 125cc, of course...

While it may not be Advocare, it must be good. It obviously helped the OP develop an alter ego in under 24 hours. Is this where the video starts with taking long walks on the beaches of the world? Look, I see eagles.....Whistling

Why is it that every one of these schemes has to start out so "top secret"? Just spit it out guys.

And Alex, you wouldn't amount to a zit on Jaybirds ass, "bud". You come in here and want to talk shit on a machinist, well lets just say that ruffles my feathers as I have quite a few friends in that trade that are quite amazing at what they do. Show us something that you've made and impress the hell out of us or politely f' off.

He's probably young. All the young people get baited into these types of schemes. I did when I was younger. Always looking for that quick get rich dollar and they are all scams. Amway one of the biggest. They all are. He will learn.
