Would you train every day for $5 mill a year?
Sure would until I had 10 M in the bank. Then I would say screw this, I’m going to live like a regular human instead of training every day like an animal. Money is an awesome motivator until you have all you need.I used to wrestle and strict diet/training would get old fast.

Personally, I feel like there is some sort of EPO/performance enhancing drugs/blood doping of some sort going on with Aldon and the people he trains. I can't prove it but after reading a book about Lance Armstrong and his team and the things they did to win I see MANY similarities in the supercross/motocross world with those who win.

Perhaps there is more to all of that then we know? Also if Aldon really is that hard on riders, Adam will peak early and be retired/ drop Aldon before he is 25 IMHO.

This is obviously JUST speculation but merits discussion... lettuce discuss.... lol

Thats an interesting theory and I agree he may be burning riders out…. Maybe its a coincidence about the press release about the anti doping alliance with mx sports and the outdoors with rv not riding them and possibly retiring? I'm not insinuating anything its just an odd coincidence

Like I said, there are a lot of similarities I see between cycling and mx/sx... But who knows.

Weimer? What has he said recently about his old program? Says he needed a change...
How did that work out for him? RC retired because he has done everything there is to do in this sport. How much more can a guy win before he is over it? He answered James challenge, and pulled the pin on top. He could have won the last outdoor championship but stayed true to his word.

Tell me, would any of rather win as much as you can for a shorter period of time, bank enough to retire, or half ass it 2 or 3 times longer for much less money, while still risking your life every time you throw a leg over a bike? At any top level, you can only go hard and win as much as these 3 have for so long. Aldon take lack of fitness out of the equation. Now a guy can line up and look down the gate and think that no one is fitter than they are. That has to feel good, no? Is it easy? But is it worth it? Depends on what you want.

At some point the pendulum will swing the other way. We'll get a Dionysian prodigy whose natural speed flat-out ruins anyone, and his training regimen will be crap. He'll have enough fitness to do the job, but won't be nearly as fit; he'll enjoy getting in the heads of all around him; he'll party on off weekends. In short, he'll be a cross between MC and JMB. That will be the new "ultimate MXer" for a while.

I'm not discrediting Baker. I'm sure he has a lot of knowledge regarding getting athletes in shape...however without ever racing motocross at the pro level or not even racing at all it's impossible to understand what the rider is really going through mentally and physically. Maybe the riders he trains would actually do better with a little less training load off the bike.

When you consider how long these pros have to be in top shape, almost year round, then factor in all the travel times, it's better to be a little under trained than over trained. Over training not only makes a rider plateau quicker physically but it also diminishes enthusiasm and passion, hence, looking forward to early retirement.

I believe Roczen even said something about overtraining mid season this year.

Totally plausible about the overtraining...

But, then there are roughly 30 national titles and 3 perfect seasons among those guys so it's hard to judge... no pain no gain?
