So what is the right way to act? Jump the finish line do a nice little one hander and ride to the podium to rattle off your list of sponsors and you're labeled a robot with no personality. But if you are actually having fun and let it show in your riding (in front of your hometown crowd in this instance) and your personality stands out as what true old school MX is all about, you're over the top. Guy was pumped, at least he didn't cry, he was just having the time of his life on a dirtbike. I loved it.

I thought his last lap celebration was awesome for being his hometown race.

I can't believe Emig didn't notice the QUAD! He said it about 3 or 4 times when JS first did it.

It was a semi win, not sure what the whole fuss is about.
Do you hate puppies, too? Wink

Watching the race, it was really cool to see how much fun he was having, and how easy he made it look...especially after all the crap he's gone through the last few years.

I talked to him a bit after the race and will post it up soon.

I did an interview with Josh Hill in Seattle.. He talked about the quad, fun had during the semi and is really candid about his split with RCH. You can read it in "Inside Story: Josh Hill Interview at Seattle SX". I love talking to that kid, and really hope we see him outdoors this year.

Being a Pacific Northwesterner, I was so stoked on his victory lap. I thought it was the second most exciting part of that entire race weekend. Like someone else said, he wouldn't have rode like that at any other venue, just a show for the hometown fans.

Great interview, but he was (understandably) pretty guarded. It would be interesting to hear one or both sides expound on the reason for the termination. Like most mysteries in this sport, I'm sure few will ever know the full story.

From the RX interview.

Do you have a comment on outdoors and what even happened? Were you even supposed to ride outdoors for this team?

I was supposed to. It wasn’t a performance-based contract at all. I was supposed to race outdoors, but like I said we’ve been disagreeing on a couple things on the motorcycle and we’re going to part ways. It’s nothing against the people at RCH. Carey Hart, Kenny Watson, I have nothing but love for those guys and nothing but great things to say about them, and pretty much the entire staff. They’re some of the greatest people I’ve ever worked with. It caught me off guard but it may be for the best. I’m just going to move forward. If I can get on a good program for outdoors I’ll be there. If not, I’ll regroup and try to just keep making myself better and come back for supercross, hopefully.

He also talked about issues with the bike. Good write up.

I literally talked to Josh right after Weege, so i think we probably got some very similar answers. I could feel how bummed Josh was, though, and he was genuinely surprised by the whole deal. I'm pumped I got to see his ride in Seattle. The kid was reminding everyone that racing dirt bikes is fun.

There is another guy who he didn't thank and who might also have an opinion on bike settings.

Seems RC might be making the calls at RCH just now

Why wouldn't RCH just take the integral route and say they're parting ways with Josh rather than make up this shit about performance?

Seems crazy to me that they stuck it out with him through some rough times and then right when it looks like things are coming around and he is riding like the old Josh, "they" shit can him.

Hut, I 100% agree with that and it's what has me scratching my head too. I mean they literally paid him two 1/2 years to simply rehab. It makes no sense and makes me think that there's someone up high somewhere that has a personal issue with something Josh does or his image. But, like Josh said, at least they waited long enough and gave him enough time to show other teams he is still talented and marketable.

Personally ( and this is what I think ).......I think RC and maybe someone else didn't dig him hanging around Josh Hansen and the group he hangs with. And it basically was black and white......" either don't hang with them....or find another job "......I think Josh chose to leave the team and choose his own friends. Hope he stays on the strait and narrow , as Hansens career has gone down the shitter. Like I said...my opinion only.

I bet if other riders could pull off a last lap celebration like that they would, hill has been fun to watch this year! He has not had the results to reflect how good he is riding. He may have lost his ride but im sure he is not done

Sometimes you gotta just cut bait.

BTW... for us in the Great NW, that victory lap was so clutch!

Dude, why must you always bitch about everything? You need to change your name to something more suitable, like Grumpy Bastard.

When I talked to someone from the team this weekend, they said it wasn't about performance. It was along the lines of what Josh said. They had disagreements about the direction of the bike, and parted company.

Hope he lands something for outdoors then again for SX in 2015. Hope we see him back here in Aus again this year for SX

That's pretty bush league for RCH to say it's "performance based" when it doesn't really seem that way. When they made the announcement that they had signed Josh for SX and MX in 2014 I must have missed the asterisk next to MX.

His first 250F race he was on the podium if that counts?

I think he has alot more talent and speed then people give him credit for. He charges the whole time too, just bad starts. I remember when he was at Yamaha and he was always in the top 3 during the start and his results showed too.
